Terrapin Easy Gose to debut year-round in April

Terrapin Easy Gose

New year-round beer for 2017 – Terrapin Easy Gose.

In summer 2016, Terrapin launched Watermelon Gose. Easily one the best hot weather beers we had last year. Releasing a gose on a large scale like that taught the brewery something. People love the gose style.

Watermelon Gose will return in time again for hot weather, alongside Terrapin Easy Gose.

Easy Gose will feature grapefruit peel, creating a beer that’s tart, light, and citrusy.

Terrapin Easy Gose will be a 12 ounce can and draft release, year-round

Style: Gose (w/ Grapefruit Peel, Coriander.)
Availability: 12oz Cans, Draft. Year-Round.

New year-round release: Allagash Hoppy Table Beer

Allagash Hoppy Table Beer stock

New for 2017, Allagash Hoppy Table Beer Is starting to ship this week. Expect this year-round from now on.

Low alcohol by volume Belgian-style beers are the inspiration for Allagash Hoppy Table Beer. High ABV doesn’t always mean the beer is better, as Allagash is about to prove to you.

The famous Allagash House Yeast (we think it deserves proper name treatment) fermented this beer, that boasts Chinook, Cascade, Comet, and Azacca hops. The dry-hop? More Comet and Azacca, plus a subtle addition of coriander. Combine the flavor of that House Yeast with that lineup of hops, and everything screams winner here.

A mildly hoppy aroma full of grapefruit springs from this straw-colored, light-bodied ale. Flavors of pine and stone fruit balance the beer’s clean, slightly bitter finish.

Allagash Hoppy Table Beer is a 12 ounce bottle and draft offering, year-round starting in January, 2017.

Style: Belgian-style Pale Ale (w/ Coriander)
Hops: Chinook, Cascade, Comet, Azacca
Malts:  Allagash 2-Row Blend, Maris Otter, Maine-Grown Oats

Availability: 12oz Bottles, Draft. Year-round
Debut: January, 2017

4.8% ABV

Amazing beer name: Unknown Brewing Dos AKs

Unknown Brewing Dos AKs

Probably one of the best beer names we’ve heard all year. Unknown Brewing Dos AKs.

We’ve spent time around Charlotte, North Carolina’s Unknown Brewing. One fact most assuredly comes to mind. They are weird. We mean that in the most endearing way. So many folks take beer so damn seriously. Unknown just loves being a part of the industry.

More on the weird situation. Unknown’s Day of the Dead Beer Series has seen the likes of La Jordana del Escorpion en Fuego Hacia la casa del Chupacabra muertoa beer brewed with 99 food-grade scorpions, and “El Corazon Que Sangra Morado”, or “The Heart That Bleeds Purple.” Continuing down that tasty, odd ball path is Unknown Brewing Dos AKs.

Even before we explain the beer, we can’t we but giggle a little bit with the name. Say it a few times out loud and you’ll start to get it. (HINT: Stay thirsty my friends.) The base beer is an imperial stout, fermented with a blend of ale and Mexican lager yeast. Those two yeasts ferment at entirely two different temperatures, resulting in a blend of flavors.

Additionally, the beer features cacao nibs, chipotle peppers, poblano peppers, and cinnamon. The specialty grains used mimic the favor of raisins. The brewery even brewed the beer with mariachi music in the background. It’s brewing. They damn sure have fun with it.

Flavor. This isn’t your run of the mill stout, there is a lot going on. Chocolate, cinnamon, and a touch of smoke from the chipotle peppers. Try it with some vanilla ice cream.

Unknown Brewing Dos AKs is available in 22 ounce bottles and draft starting November 2nd, 2016.

Style: Imperial Stout (w/ Cinnamon, Cocoa Nibs, Chili Peppers, Coriander.)
Availability: 22oz Bottles, Draft.
Debut: 11/2/16

9.2% ABV

Tin Roof Gose with the Flow debuts today

Tin Roof Gose with the Flow

Tin Roof Gose with the Flow debuts today, with bottles hitting shelves by July. This is a completely new beer by the Louisiana based brewery.

Typical of the nose style (which is on fire in the U.S. these days), Tin Roof Gose with the Flow uses coriander and Himalayan Pink Sea Salt in the brewing process. Lactic bacteria and ale yeast create the tartness. The result is a great heat-beating beer.

This is our take on an old German beer that was almost extinct. We used a mix of wheat and barley, spiced it up with Coriander and Himalayan Pink Salt and finally fermented with both yeast and lactic bacteria. The result is a smooth flavor with almost no bitterness and a slight sour spiciness, followed by citrusy zest. The finish is crisp and dry with a mouth puckering sensation. Enjoy this very refreshing brew after mowing the yard or a day at the beach.

Tin Roof Gose with the Flow will be a 22 ounce bottle and draft offering starting in July, 2016.

Style: Gose (w/ Sea Salt, Coriander)
Hops: Saaz, Liberty
Malts: Wheat, 2-Row, Pilsner

Availability: 22oz Bottles, Draft.
Release: 6/24/2016

4.6% ABV, 12 IBUs
