Lazy Magnolia (Kiln, MI) will be adding a partner for Southern Gentleman – Southern Belle. Belle is a perfect suitor for Gentleman, as they are cut from the same mold. Southern Gentleman is the Lazy Mag’s Southern Pecan Ale, aged in bourbon barrels. Southern Belle is created by taking Southern Pecan, and aging it in Pinot Noir barrels. Early spring release for this pretty lady.
Lazy Magnolia will release more Southern Gentleman later this month.Gentleman is the brewery’s Southern Pecan (nut brown ale with roasted pecans), aged in bourbon barrels. Southern Gentleman is an occasional draft release by the Kiln, Mississippi brewery.
We’ve been expecting this one, especially because Cigar City is working on a barrel aged edition of “Church on a Hill.” Quick flashback: Swamp Head and Cigar City each brewed a barleywine. Cigar City’s was an English style barleywine dubbed Churchill (until his estate shut that down.) It was then named to Church on a Hill.
Swamp Head brewed an American barleywine, dubbed Roosevelt. A little while later, we learned of Cognac Barrel Aged Church on a Hill. It is only natural that Roosevelt would spend some time in barrels too. 20 year old Pappy Van Winkle barrels to be exact.
Competition has been shown to be useful up to a certain point and further, but cooperation, which is the thing we must strive for today, begins where competition leaves off. FDR

This is B’s Nuts. The 2012 Olde Hickory Pro Am Winner. Brewed by Brian Pesci. If the name doesn’t make you laugh, you’re too mature for me.
Brian’s a good guy. We like Brian. But, well,… that’s him over there. So you can imagine what happened when he decided to brew a Brown Ale for the 3rd Annual Olde Hickory Pro Am. He took a classic English-Style Brown Ale and gave it an American twist, via a ton of pecans. We like Brian. We love this beer.
Style: Brown Ale (w/ Pecans)
Availability: 22oz bombers, Draft
SXNW (South By Northwest) is looking to make an appearance into Widmer Brother’s Reserve Series. An interesting release, brewed with pecans, cocoa nibs, spice, and green chilies.
Using rich mexican chocolate nibs, cinnamon, toasted pecans, and green chilies, this brew will feature decadent chocolate notes with a subtle spice character to pique the taste buds. A complex blend of traditional southwest flavors brought to you by way of the northwest.
American Strong Ale (Brewed w/ cocoa nibs, green chilies, pecans)
