The Bruery Share This Mole is the next “Share This” beer

The Bruery Share This Mole

The Bruery Share This Mole will be the next chapter in the brewery’s “Share This” series.

Back in June, The Bruery released the first beer in the lineup of collaborative and charitable stouts – Share This Coffee Imperial Stout. Not only is the beer great for sharing with friends, but it also gives back.  From each bottle purchased, one dollar is donated to  Free Wheelchair Mission’s efforts in the Philippines. The non-profit organization provides wheelchairs at no cost to people with disabilities living in developing nations. The partnership with The Bruery will provide 550 people in the Philippines with new mobility. That beer generated some $50,000 dollars for the non-profit.

The Bruery Share This Mole Imperial Stout is brewed in collaboration with Chef Anne Conness, whose creative dishes can be found at the local restaurant  Sausal. Being surrounded by some amazing Mexican food as well as Chef Conness, a mole stout was and easy choicee.

Mole Imperial Stout is brewed with a blend of ancho and chipotle peppers, plus vanilla, cinnamon, and cacao nibs.

To help The Bruery develop an authentic flavor profile they worked with Chef Anne Conness, herself a Certified Cicerone®. After a lot of hard work (and some delicious tamale pie), Share This: Mole was born; an Imperial Stout with ancho chilies, chipotle peppers, cinnamon, vanilla and cacao nibs.

The Bruery Share This Mole Imperial Stout will be available in 750 milliliter bottles for a limited time on November 11th.

Style: Imperial Stout (w/ Cinnamon, Vanilla Beans, Cacao Nibs, Chili Peppers.)
Availability: 750ml Bottles

Ballast Point Cinnamon Raisin Commodore

Ballast Point Cinnamon Raisin Commodore

Ballast Point Cinnamon Raisin Commodore, a future bottle.

The brewery is no stranger to flavored spins to the various beers in their lineup. If you need examples: Pineapple Sculpin, Orange Vanilla Fathom, Coconut Victory at Sea.

Another variant is on the rise – Ballast Point Cinnamon Raisin Commodore. The base beer came from the brewery’s various Research & Development attempts to find a medium bodied stout. The coffee and chocolate flavors of the stout will be accentuated by cinnamon and raison favors.

Strong flavors of roast coffee and bittersweet chocolate balance with light citrusy hop aromas, highlighted by a crisp, bitter finish.

Ballast Point Cinnamon Raisin Commodore will be a 12 ounce bottle and draft release. The brewery has not yet announced this beer.

Style: Stout (w/ Cinnamon, Raisins.)
Availability: 12oz Bottles, Draft.

Molé Beer: Weyerbacher Sunday Mole Stout

Weyerbacher Sunday Mole Stout

Weyerbacher Sunday Mole Stout is a new imperial stout with a twist, joining the Pennsylvania brewery’s arsenal.

The foundation for this beer is the same imperial stout found in Sunday Morning Stout, minus the barrel aging. The stout has been nuanced with cocoa nibs and powder, cinnamon, a big pepper blend, and coffee. The end result is a beer that resembles traditional molé: coffee, chocolate heat, and a hint of smoke.

This brew captures everything you’d expect from a traditional molé – coffee, chocolate, heat and smokiness.

Weyerbacher Sunday Mole Stout is available in 12 ounce bottles.

Style: Imperial Stout (w/ Coffee, Chocolate, Chili Peppers, Cinnamon)
Availability: 12oz Bottles, Draft.
Debut: September, 2016

11.3% ABV

Boulevard Funky Pumpkin, gone after 2016

Boulevard Funky Pumpkin 2016

Boulevard Funky Pumpkin makes a seasonal return this week. The Kansas City, Missouri’s unique take on the pumpkin seasonal.

In a sea of pumpkin spiced ales, Boulevard Funky Pumpkin is definitely one one of the more unique. In the spirit of Berliner Weisse, Funky Pumpkin is kettle soured with the lactic acid producing bacteria, Lactobacillus.

Our entry in the very popular pumpkin ale market is an eccentric one, with pumpkin flavor scarcely present, upstaged by cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg and ginger. Brewhouse souring lends a subtle, pleasant tartness putting the “unk” in “funky.”

Boulevard Funky Pumpkin is available in 12 ounce bottles and draft. 2016 season will be the last time you’ll find Funky Pumpkin (at least for a while), as the brewery will not release it in 2017.

Style: Pumpkin Beer (w/ Cinnamon, Allspice, Nutmeg, Ginger.)
Availability: 12oz Bottles, Draft. Seasonal Release.
Latest Return: Early August, 2016

Hardywood Farmhouse Pumpkin Ale kicks off fall in Richmond

Hardywood Farmhouse Pumpkin Ale

Hardywood Farmhouse Pumpkin Ale debuts today at the brewery in Richmond, Virginia.

Easing into the fall season, Hardywood Farmhouse Pumpkin combines a base flavor of a Belgian-style farmhouse ale, with Virginia flame-roasted sugar pumpkins plus a little brown sugar.

Tack on fresh ground cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove, ginger, and allspice for that touch of fall flavor. The end result is another fantastic Hardywood offering.

A great accompaniment to butternut squash soup or oven baked yams, Farmhouse Pumpkin is also right at home with spiced pies, especially bourbon pecan pie, apple pie and, of course, pumpkin pie with fresh whipped cream.

Hardywood Farmhouse Pumpkin Ale is available in 750 milliliter bottles and draft, seasonally.

Style: Farmhouse Ale (w/ Pumpkin, Brown Sugar, Cinnamon, Cloves, Nutmeg, Ginger, Allspice.)
Availability: 750ml Bottles, Draft. Seasonal release.
