Dogfish Head Brewpub Exclusive: Beard de Garde
Dogfish Head recently released a brewpub exclusive: Beard de Garde. A biere de garde brewed with peppercorn, and apples.
Sam Calagione recently teamed up with renowned West Coast chef Adam Dulye to brew a beer that celebrates James Beard and his passion for using local ingredients. As Sam says, Beard was a “locavore before locavore was cool.” This beer will be served on draft at Dogfish Head Brewings & Eats in Rehoboth Beach, Del. It’ll be available until it’s gone.
Corsendonk Apple White Beer Arrives Stateside
A new Corsendonk has arrived stateside. Corsendonk Apple White is a witbier, brewed with spices and apple juice. and at a low 3.2%, it is a true session beer. Corsendonk is brewed in Oud-Turnhout, Belgium.
Corsendonk Apple White Beer is a compact, creay beer with a lingering froth. With aromas of yeast and apple, it is mild on the palate with well-balanced bitterness and hints of apple. It is excellent as an aspertif or as a thirst-quencher.

Dogfish Head Positive Contact Drops 6/18
The above are bottles of Positive Contact on the line at Dogfish Head in Milton, Delaware. The beer infusion is a collaboration between Deltron 3030′s Dan the Automator and Dogfish Head. Deltron 3030 is a hip-hop collaboration between Dan and Del the Funkee Homosapien.
Positive Contact is a 9% ABV hybrid of beer and cider brewed with wood-pressed Fuji apples, roasted farro, a handful of cayenne peppers and fresh cilantro. Described as a “sweet-and-sour Belgian-ish brew”, light straw color with fruity, cider-like notes. Cayenne and alcohol give it a warming finish.

Blue Moon is hosting a series of tasting events around the United States for consumers to taste and choose for themselves. More about the three choices:
Caramel Apple Spice: A blend of cinnamon and nutmeg combine with roasted caramel malts and fresh apple juice for a warming, spiced taste.
Blackberry Tart Ale: The aroma of rich blackberries sets up the slightly sweet yet tart taste that’s balanced be the subtle malt character.
Dark Chocolate Bacon Porter: The deep-mahogany colored ale is brewed with hickory-smoked bacon and dark chocolate for a slight sweet yet savory taste.
The nest Blue Moon launches on August 31st.

Rumors: Next Troeg’s Scratch – Pressed Apples
Picked up this little nugget yesterday at Troeg’s Brewing (Hershey, PA), the next Scratch Series beer will feature pressed apples. That’s all you get to know for now, lol. Just days ago, Scratch #55 was released – instantly topping one of my favorite IPA’s of 2011.

Shipyard Applehead Ships By End Of Year
Shipyard Brewing’s newest – Applehead will be available by the end of December. A sister beer to Pumpkinhead, the brewery’s fall offering.
“We asked Pumpkinhead fans what other flavors would they like to see and their answer was apple,” said director of sales and marketing, Bruce Forsley. “We listened to what our fans asked for and created Shipyard Applehead. Master brewer Alan Pugsley has combined the subtle sweetness of cinnamon and apple with a clean, refreshing wheat ale to create a whole new beer experience.”
New England will receive the beer first, starting in December. Other Shipyard markets will have it starting in January, 2012. It is already on tap in NH, & MA.
