Blue Moon Brewing, part of MillerCoor’s craft division, Tenth & Blake, will be building a new brewery in Denver, Colorado. The site has a 2016 opening target date.
The new facility is located in Denver’s RiNo Art District, and will produce around 10,000 barrels (310,000 gallons) annually. This new facility will be an innovation and pilot brewery, complete with tasting room, and event space.
“We just locked-down a prime location in the heart of Denver’s rapidly growing RiNo Art District,” said Keith Villa, founder and head brewmaster at Blue Moon Brewing Company. “We founded Blue Moon on a belief that brewing is equal parts art and science. So it’s pretty cool that 20 years later we get to design a new brewery in an area where we’ll be surrounded by fellow artists.”
Blue Moon’s original Sandlot Brewery facility will remain operational, ever after the new site comes online.
Blue Moon Brewing has released Cinnamon Horchata Ale. The beer is inspired by milk based cinnamon drink.
For this beer, our brewmaster reached back to his roots and found inspiration in the traditional agua de horchata. Our cinnamon-spiced ale is his interpretation of this delicious Latin beverage. It’s brewed with natural long-grain rice for a creamy texture to complement flavors of cinnamon, making it the perfect treat for a get-together with friends.
Blue Moon Cinnamon Horchata Ale is available in 12oz/6 packs in New York, California, Texas and Denver. Nationwide in the Winter Sampler Pack.
Style: Herb/Spice Beer
Malts: 2 Row Pale, Long Grain Rice
Availability: 12oz Bottles, Draft. Seasonal

Blue Moon Brewing is big on seasonals. Example, Blue Moon First Peach Ale. The base is a Belgian-style brown ale, with peaches and coriander. To appear late winter, 2015.
With one foot in winter and the other in spring, we crafted this Belgian-inspired Brown Ale with flavors of peach and coriander to complement both. It has a tart taste balanced by caramel malts for the cooler days and peach Taste notes for the warmer ones.
Blue Moon First Peach Ale will be available in 12oz bottles. Typically either in the seasonal mixed packs, or in 12oz, 6 packs.
Style: Witbier (w/ Peaches, Coriander)
Availability: 12oz Bottles
Arrival: Late Winter, 2015
Blue Moon Brewing Company’s Grape Scott! is joining the brewery’s Graffitti Series. (See label, it makes sense.)
However, it is important to note that it may indeed be a rename of a renamed beer. Vintage Blonde Ale was renamed (last year?) to Golden Knot (in 750ml bottles) with the following description:
Golden Knot* is crafted with the juice of Chardonnay grapes and 100% wheat, intertwining a touch of tartness with apple and kiwi notes. This ale ties nicely with any food you might otherwise pair with white wine.
Grape Scott! carries the description: Wheat Ale with Chardonnay grapes. Blue Moon hasn’t clarified the different offerings for Beer Street Journal yet. In the meantime, your call.
Style: Wheat Ale (w/ Chardonnay Grapes)
Availability: 22oz Bottles
Blue Moon Brewing is further expanding their Vintage Ale Collection with the addition of Ruby Tango. The infamous base wheat beer that makes Blue Moon is brewed bigger, stronger, and uses various wine grapes. Tango has Cabernet Sauvignon grapes in it, which wreaks a good bit of Impulse, that is already available. Other new addition on the way – White Steps with Pinot Grigio grapes.
Inspired by the Vine. Perfected in the Brew Kettle.’RUBY TANGO. At Blue Moon Brewing Company, everything we do flows from our artistic approach to brewing. Our brewmaster created the Vintage Ale Collection to combine his passion for beer with his love for winemaking. Ruby Tango”‘ is crafted with the juice of Cabernet Sauvignon grapes and wheat, partnering notes of dark berries with a smooth, silky finish. Pour a glass for you and a partner and give it a twirl.
