Monday Night Slap Fight canned today

Monday Night Slap Fight is officially being canned this morning (March 21st). This is the Atlanta, Georgia based brewery’s first canned beer.

Instead of canning one of the brewery’s flagship offerings, co-founder Jonathan Baker tells Beer Street Journal that he saw it as an opportunity to go a different way by launching something new – Monday Night Slap Fight.

Slap Fight is an India pale ale, brewed with Comet, Equinox, Mosaic, and Bravo hops. Different from the brewery’s Eye Patch IPA, which leans a bit more English-style IPA. This newbie is all American West Coast IPA you’ve come to know and love.

Slap Fight will woo you in with West Coast-style malt bill. but slaps you across the face with its tropical hop profile. Light in body, heavy in character, this IPA features Munich and Crystal pole malts for a clean, rich rnouthfeel.

Monday Night Slap Fight will be a 12 ounce can offering only.

Style: IPA
Hops: Comet, Equinox, Mosaic, Bravo
Availability: 12oz Cans
Release: Late March, 2016

Avery Xolotl, Barrel Aged Series #37

Avery Xolotl

Avery Xolotl looks to the 37th entry in the brewery’s on going Barrel-Aged Series.

Many of the releases prior to Avery Xolotl are barrel-aged wild ales. This edition is a bourbon aged imperial stout with a spicy twist. The 11.4% imperial stout is brewed with cacao nibs, vanilla beans and cinnamon, plus Pasilla, Ancho, and Chipotle chilies (including red, brown, and black.)

No 37. Clocks and spelling may not be your forte Thoma, but fortunately for everyone, blending a menagerie of wonderfully wacky ingredients is! Who cares about time or first name spellings anyhow?

Avery Xolotl will be a 12 ounce bottle offering. According to the label, bottling will occur in May, 2016.

Style: Imperial Stout (w/ Cacao Nibs, Vanilla Beans, Cinnamon, Chilies. Barrel Aged. Bourbon.)
Availability: 12oz Bottles

Wicked Weed Ferme de Grand-pere

Wicked Weed Ferme de Grand-pere

Wicked Weed Ferme de Grand-pere will soon expand the brewery’s line of foeder-aged beers… plus it shows off what they do best. Fruited wild and sour ales.

Wicked Weed Ferme de Grand-pere is rested in the brewery’s foeders in the brewery’s downtown Funkatorium. The Brettanomyces fermented American wild ale features locally grown marionberries.

The childhood farm of our brewers is the source of the love of all things cultivated from soil, sweat, and hard-earned know-how. Their grandfather was a purveyor of preserves and jams made from berries and fruits that he harvested with his own hands. From this early inspiration the seed of our craft took root and grew into a philosophy of creating beer with integrity berry to barrel to bottle. Firm de Grand-Pere is a foeder-aged, Brettanomyces farmhouse ale. This tart, deep amber ale was rested on over a pound per gallon of marionberries and bottle conditioned in our cellar to reflect and echo the rustic farm-style beers of old.

Wicked Weed Ferme de Grand-pere is a 500 milliliter bottle offering. The brewery has not yet announced this offering.

Style: American Wild Ale (w/ Marionberries. Oak Aged.)
Availability: 500ml Bottles
Release: TBA

Ferme de Grand-pere translates from French to “Grandfather’s Farm.” (Our French is rusty.)
