Leinenkugel Watermelon Shandy to join extensive lineup
Leinenkugel Watermelon Shandy will join the brewery’s shandy lineup in the near future.
The beer/lemonade hybrid lineup already includes Summer, Harvest Patch, Grapefruit, and Cranberry Ginger. The shandy line has been very successful for the Leine’s family, prompting all the brand extensions over the past few years.
One unique take on the style is our Watermelon Shandy, a mix of traditional Weiss beer balanced with a hint of watermelon flavor fora taste made for summer.
Leinenkugel Watermelon Shandy will be a 12 ounce can offering. The brewery has not yet announced this release.

Leinenkugel Big Eddy Cherry Doppleschwarz, a Barrel Aged Release
Leinenkugel Big Eddy Cherry Doppleschwarz takes aim at the brewery’s Big Eddy Series in the near future. This release marks a departure from the current releases.
Back in 2011, Beer Street Journal met with John Leinenkugel about their newest project that would become the Big Eddy Series. At the time, the brewery had been experimenting with a barrel aging program. We even tried some test batches of the would-be releases. Leinenkugel was hopeful that barrel aged offerings would join the lineup in about two years, after sourcing barrels, and aging the beers.
Now, close to four years later, Leinenkugel Big Eddy Cherry Doppleschwarz takes aim at the Big Eddy Series in 22oz bottles. This black lager (Schwarzbier), is aged in brandy barrels is Door County, Wisconsin cherries.
The brewery has not yet announced this offering.

Leinkugel’s has made a big name for themselves in the shandy market. The beer meets lemonade offering has done very well for the brewery – more than 60% of their sales, despite a full portfolio of other offerings.
While shandies are great for hot weather drinking, the brewery has quickly found they sell very well year round. Going off of that, Leinie’s is adding winter shandy offerings.
Did you know Wisconsin produces more cranberries than any other state in America? Our hometown pride inspired us to brew Leinenkugel Cranberry Ginger Shandy. The combination of wheat beer, cranberry and ginger is as refreshing as a toboggan ride Out Here.
As with Harvest Patch Shandy and Old Fashioned Shandy, look for Leinenkugel Cranberry Ginger Shandy in 12oz cans.

While shandies are great for hot weather drinking, the brewery has quickly found they sell very well year round. (They have even had to push up the Summer Shandy release dates.) Going off of that, Leinie’s is adding fall and winter shandy offerings.
Thus, Leinenkugel Harvest Shandy. The brewery is combing a the flavors of a wheat based beer, citrus, allspice, clove, and nutmeg.
