Prairie 4th Anniversary is all about blueberries. The farmhouse brewery is about to have a birthday.
The brewery, founded by two brothers, loves wild and funky. Prairie 4th Anniversary touts that in droves – an American wild ale brewed with blueberries.
Previous anniversary beers include 3rd Anniversary brewed with raspberries, and 2nd Anniversary (Chardonnay barrel-aged farmhouse ale).
Prairie 4th Anniversary will be a 16.9 ounce bottle offering. No release date has been set.
Prairie Pirate Bomb, the brewery’s well-known imperial stout aged in rum barrels, returns to the brewery’s lineup again in March, 2016.
The brewery mentions that more of the Bomb! spices were added to the finished Prairie Pirate Bomb, so the pop even more for this edition. The base stout features chili peppers, vanilla beans, cacao nibs, and coffee.
Pirate bomb is our beer Prairie Bomb! aged in rum casks. The flavor from the casks helps impart more vanilla and coconut flavors to the beer while helping to add more body and smoothness to the already explosive and expressive flavors of Bomb!
Prairie Pirate Bomb is a limited, 12 ounce bottle offering.

Chase Healey of Prairie joined Jester King’s head brewer Garrett Crowell in Austin, Texas back in August for this brew day. Natural Union is brewed using locally sourced ingredients from Texas and Prairie’s Oklahoma home. Healey brought rosemary from Oklahoma, and Crowell chose lemon bee-balm going in a nearby Texas pasture.
The boiled wort was fermented in oak for three months, using brewer’s yeast, and bacteria from the local air and wildflowers nearby.
Jester King/Prairie Artisan Ales Natural Union will be available in 750ml bottles and draft starting Friday, January 16th. Chase Healey will be on hand at the brewery for a special release celebration on January 17th.
