Mother Earth Adds Figs, Raisins, Brandy To Windowpane #3

Mother Earth Brewing (Kinston, NC) is on the cusp of releasing the third in the Windowpane Series – Fig & Raisin. For months now, the release has been sleeping in North Carolina Brandy barrels waiting for the big time. Mother Earth brewmaster Josh Brewer (yep, that’s his name) chose a Belgian style dubbel with locally sourced figs and raisins. The total production per release is limited to just 20 barrels. (620 gallons.) Blackberries was the featured fruit in release #1. Peaches (currently available) is release #2.

Third in a series of four North Carolina inspired beers,Figs and Raisins Window Pane isa Belgian Style Dubbelbeer fermented with North Carolina Apple Brandy barrels for three months. Anticipate a prevailing aroma of dark fruit, blended with vanilla and oak to greet you.

Mother Earth Silent Night Release [PICS]

2012 marks the 3rd release of Mother Earth Brewing’s Silent Night. The name may sound tame, but the beer is anything but. Silent Night is an imperial stout brewed with Counter Culture coffee, then aged in Heaven Hill barrels for a few months prior to bottling.  Bottles went on sale at 1 pm in small town Kinston, North Carolina, with the party going well into the evening. All three years of the release were on tap too.

Invite friends, stoke the fire, and uncork a bottle of indulgence. Silent Night offers a coffee aroma and the taste of an exceptionally rich malty flavor. Robust yet smooth and black as coal, each sip is a delightful gift. Old man winter gave you just what you were hoping for.

Style: Imperial Stout (w/ Coffee, Barrel Aged)

Mother Earth Windowpanes Series Release #3: Figs & Raisins

The third edition in Mother Earth Brewing’s (Kinston, NC) Windowpanes Series  is about ready for the big time. Panes is a series of North Carolina inspired beers that contain fruit  rom the states farms, then aged in pinor noir, chardonnay, or brandy barrels. The total production per release is limited to just 20 barrels. (620 gallons.) Blackberries was the featured fruit in release #1. Peaches (currently available) is release #2. Coming soon is Figs & Raisins.

The base beer for this release is a Belgian-style dubbel, fermented with local figs and raisins, then aged in North Carolina Brandy Barrels.

NoDa & Mother Earth Collaborate on Red Saison [VIDEO]

NoDa Brewing (Charlotte, NC) and Mother Earth Brewing (Kinston, NC) are embarking on a new collaboration. The beer – a red saison is in the test batch phase at NoDa. The “red saison” is brewed with elderflower and apricots.  Those in Charlotte, North Carolina can swing into NoDa for a sneak peek of the upcoming collaboration.  NoDa’s version is called Word To Ya Mother, an 5.8% abv. Mother Earth’s dubbed The Henderson is lower ABV and clocks in at 5.4% ABV. Each is a tap room exclusive at the respective breweries, and could potentially turn into a full scale collaboration.

Peaches Next Up In Mother Earth Window Panes Series

The second edition in Mother Earth Brewing’s (Kinston, NC) Window Panes Series approaches. Panes is a series of North Carolina inspired beers (there will be 4) that will contain fruit  from the states farms, then aged in pinor noir, chardonnay, or brandy barrels. The total production per release is limited to just 20 barrels. (620 gallons.) Blackberries was the featured fruit in release #1.

Uncork a bottle of Peach Window Pane and savor the fresh flavors of North Carolina. Second in a series of four North Carolina inspired beers, Peach Window Pane is a double American wheat fermented with vast quantities of luscious North Carolina fruit, then aged in Chardonnay barrels for three months. Anticipate a prevailing aroma of fruit and chardonnay, blended with a subtle amount of oak. Also expect dominant fruit flavor joined by a slight oak character and sourness that keeps you wanting more. 

Style: Wheat Beer (w/ Peaches, Wine Barrel Aged)

Mother Earth “Blackberries” Arrives Today

First in a series of four North Carolina inspired beers, Blackberry Window Pane is a double Belgian Style Wit beer fermented with vast quantities of this treasured North Carolina fruit, then aged in pinot noir barrels for three precious months.   Anticipate a prevailing aroma of berry, blended with spice, vanilla and oak to greet you: and a dominate berry flavor joined by a slight oak character and sourness to Ale brewed with Natural flavors and aged in Pinot Noir Barrels

Mother Earth’s Bourbon Barrel Tripel Overhead Released Today

Mother Earth Brewing’s bourbon barrel aged Belgian Tripel, Tripel Overhead, hits shelves and taps at the brewery taproom today at 4pm.  There will also be a keg of 2011 Tripel Overhead tapped at 4pm for a side by side vertical for $6.

750ml bottles of 2012 Tripel Overhead will be available for purchase at $13 per bottle with a 3 bottle per person limit.  Also, as a special surprise, Mother Earth will have a very limited number of 2010 Tripel Overhead hand corked and caged bottles for sale.  This was the very first batch of this brew to be made.  Bottles will be numbered and signed by the brewers.  The 2010 edition will see for $30 per bottle with a limit of one per person.
