Red Brick Southern Roots, a sweet potato beer

Red Brick Sweet Potato Brown Ale

Red Brick Southern Roots, a sweet potato brown ale, debuts on Black Friday. The base beer, a brown ale, is brewed with a fall spice blend, plus sweet potatoes, or course.

This brown ale is brewed with real sweet potatoes and a blend of ginger, nutmeg, allspice, and cinnamon. It sports a malty body that gives notes of pecans and toasted marshmallow.

Red Brick Southern Roots will be available in 12 ounce cans, and draft both at the brewery, and exclusively at Taco Mac (or T. Mac, whichever they are called now.) through December, 2015.

Style: Brown Ale (w/ Sweet Potato, Ginger, Nutmeg, Allspice, Cinnamon)
Hops: Glacier

Asheville Brewing Ninjabread Man returns, with recipes in tow

Asheville Brewing Ninjabread Man Porter

Asheville Brewing Ninjabread Man returns for a second year on October 31st. This beer is a seasonal spin on the fan favorite Ninja Porter.

Asheville Brewing Ninjabread Man is created using a concoction of vanilla beans, toasted cinnamon sticks, raisins, and caramelized ginger. The result is a liquid gingerbread cookie.

“People have been asking when it’s coming back for months. We feel it’s a perfect beer for cooler holiday weather. And your bread man makes delicious dessert beer or complements of a savory meal, whether it’s turkey or tofu.” Co-head Brewer Pete Langheinrich

Asheville Brewing Ninjabread Man will be available in 22 ounce bottles to-go from the brewery in Asheville, with limited distribution to follow.

Troeg’s Master of Pumpkins returns to lineup

Troegs Master of Pumpkins

Troegs Master of Pumpkins has made a 2015 return, across the brewery’s entire distribution footprint.

Troegs Master of Pumpkins uses Pennsylvania gourds grown just a few miles from the brewery. Take those and add a few pie spices and autumn is starting to take shape. In an interesting twist, the beer uses a French saison yeast, for a fun flavor profile.

Troegs Master of Pumpkins boasts flavors of vanilla, cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, ginger, and honey. Available in 375 milliliter bottles.

Great Lakes Winter Fitz

Great Lakes Winter Fitz will be released by the brewery in November.

Great Lakes Winter Fitz was once a brewpub exclusive finally seeing some bottle time. The base beer is Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald Porter, spiced with cinnamon and ginger much like Christmas Ale.

You may have been lucky enough to try this Edmund Fitzgerald/Christmas Ale hybrid via firkin, or as a limited draft-only release. To create Winter Fitz, we brew our award-winning Edmund Fitzgerald with Christmas Ale’s signature ginger and cinnamon. The result? A rich, aromatic holiday treat that pairs perfectly with a crackling fire.

Great Lakes Winter Fitz is a 22 ounce bottle offering, available in the brewery’s gift shop. Limited draft in Northeast Ohio.

Burnside Sunsplash Kolsch joins the Portland, Oregon brewery’s lineup on July 1st. Burnside has already released another kolsch rendition, Lime Kolsch. This release is Jamaican inspired.

Burnside Sunsplash Kolsch features hibiscus, orange zest and thai ginger.

Those attending the release at the pub on July 1st get a chance to win Ziggy Marley tickets for August 8th.

Tallgrass Ginger Peach Saison

Tallgrass Ginger Peach Saison is being introduced this month, the second new release this year from the Kansas-based brewery’s new facility.

Tallgrass Ginger Peach Saison is exactly how it’s billed, a saison brewed with fresh ginger and peaches.

“We tried several different strains of yeast before arriving at a Belgian strain used in the final recipe,” Brandon Hoag, Tallgrass brewmaster said. “A lot of the flavor comes from the yeast, but it’s the way it interacts with the ginger and peach that makes it slam on the taste buds.”

Tallgrass Ginger Peach Saison is available in 16oz cans as a summer seasonal.
