Left Hand Wicked JuJu is the latest ginger wheat offering

Left Hand Wicked JuJu

Left Hand Wicked JuJu is now available. Think of the brewery’s Good JuJu with a dark side.

The JuJu line is best known for Good JuJu, a wheat beer brewed with fresh ginger. As for Left Hand Wicked JuJu, imagine an imperial edition of the tried and true favorite, brewed with darker malt, and candi sugar.

Good JuJu’s Voodoo goes darque. Consecrated in observance of the light and darkness in all creatures, fresh juiced ginger and dark roasted malt are brewed together to pour black with slight ginger heat giving way to to chocolate malt sweetness. Invoke the good spirits and give reverence to the wicked with each divine drop.

The gingery series looks like this: Good JuJu led to Great JuJu (an imperial edition of the original). Now, Left Hand Wicked JuJu a roastier edition is a 22 ounce bottle release.

Style: Wheat Beer (w/ Dark Candi Syrup, Ginger)
Availability: 22oz Bottles
Release: March, 2016

Monday Night Fu ManBrew Gose up next in Clip On Series

Monday Night Fu ManBrew Gose

Monday Night Fu ManBrew Gose looks to be the next release in the brewery’s Clip-On Series. Each release is a temporary “clip-on” to the brewery’s lineup, typically a spin on a year-round offering.

The brewery’s ginger wheat beer, known as Fu Manbrew, is the next beer the brewing team has tinkered with. Monday Night kettle soured the base beer, transforming it into more of a German-style gose.

The nose is a traditional German style known for its wheat base, tartness, and saltiness. We kettle sour our version, resulting in a pleasant lemon note that balances the sea salt nicely. The soul of Fu Manbrew lives on in this beer, with its crisp taste, aroma of lemongrass, and pristine mustache.

Monday Night Fu ManBrew Gose follows Blood Orange Blind Pirate and and Cinnamon Cocoa Drafty Kilt in the series.

The brewery has not yet announced this offering.

Style: Gose (w/ Ginger)
Availability: 12oz Bottles, Draft. One-Off Release

Ballast Point Thai Chili Wahoo to be bottled

Ballast Point Thai Chili Wahoo

Ballast Point Thai Chili Wahoo has already been available on draft in the past. In 2016, the beer looks to join the line of interesting variants.

Interesting variants? In case you’ve been out of the loop, Ballast Point started with Sculpin IPA, with Grapefruit Sculpin and Habanero Sculpin IPA following not far behind. In January, Ballast Point released Pineapple Sculpin, and Watermelon Dorado, and Mango Even Keel.

On deck, Ballast Point Thai Chili Wahoo, a spicy spin on the brewery’s witbier.

Our Thai Chili Wahoo is a favorite in our tasting rooms for its complex balance of ingredients. Citrus and spice have long been a part of our Wahoo White. In this edition, we added a dose of Thai chilies, even more head from ginger, and a counterpunch of lime. The flavors in this beer need to be experienced first-hand, so grab one and try it for yourself.

Ballast Point Thai Chili Wahoo will be a 12 ounce bottle, and draft offering. The brewery has not yet announced this release.

Style: Witbier (w/ Thai Chili. Lime. Ginger.)
Availability: Draft (Current), Bottles (Soon)
Release: TBA

Maplewood Creepy Ginger

Maplewood Creepy Ginger bottle

Maplewood Creepy Ginger, a year-round Belgian-style strong ale.

This beer is more than a hilarious name – the name serves as a double entendre, as it boasts organic ginger root that has been added post fermentation. A nice, spicy touch to this beer’s light and slightly boozy body.

Brewed to celebrate one of the red-headed founders of Maplewood Brewing Company, the Creepy Ginger is a Belgian-Style Golden Strong Ale brewed with a pilsner malt base and a healthy amount of spelt.

Maplewood Creepy Ginger is available in 22 ounce bottles and draft.

Style: Belgian-style Strong Ale (w/ Ginger)
Hops: Warrior, Centennial
Malts: Pilsner, Spelt, Caramalt
