Ommegang’s Next Game of Thrones Beer Bottled
Big Game of Thrones fan? The next installment in Ommegang’s series, Fire and Blood Red Ale is being bottled this week. Look for it at the end of March, 2014.
Ommegang initially announced the beginning of the Game of Thrones series in December, 2012 with the addition of Iron Throne Blonde Ale. That was followed by Take the Black Stout last fall.
Fire and Blood Red Ale features three different renditions of the artwork for the label depicting Daenerys Targaryen’s
(aka Khaleesi) three dragons – Drogon, Rhaegal, and Viseron.

Ommegang Releases Second Game of Thrones Beer
Still reeling from the bloody ending of Game of Throne’s Season 3? There’s a beer to help that. Brewery Ommegang (Cooperstown, NY) is now shipping Take the Black Stout.
The follow up to Iron Throne (a blonde ale), Take the Black goes dark. Just like the show. This edition is inspired by the Night’s Watch, a beer meant to defend Westeros. The tree is where Jon Snow recited the Night’s Watch oath. Due to overwhelming demand, Ommegang doubled production of this release.
Style: American Stout
Availability: 750 ml bottles, Draft. Fall Release.

Ommegang’s Hop House
Brewery Ommegang (Cooperstown, NY) sits on a historic hop farm, allowing the brewery access to fresh hops each season. That’s the inspiration for Hop House, a dry-hopped pale ale from the Game of Throne beer brewers.
The description of this new brew sounds suspiciously like their Belgian pale ale simply called BPA. We reached out to the brewery for clarification. Ommegang fans, be aware of the name in the meantime. We’ll figure it out.
Style: Belgian Pale Ale
Availability: 12oz bottles, Draft
6% ABV
Ommegang Gets Wild At Heart
Brewery Ommegang has been on fire lately. The second beer in the Game of Thrones series broke the internet this week, so let’s keep the trend alive shall we? A new wild ale is on the horizon from the Cooperstown, NY brewery. Wild At Heart features the funky and popular brettanomyces yeast.
Wild At Heart is an audacious new ale in our brewer’s obsession series. In a rarely-employed technique we use only wild brettanomyces yeast in primary fermentation – the very heart of the beer. The brett yeast imparts robust fruit flavors and aromas, and combines with Motueka and topaz hops to create uncommon tastes and aromas, Wild at Heart pours a rich amber hue with a full white head. Aromas include mango, pineapple, and passion fruit. Complex flavors present a touch of tartness, carefully balanced with gentle malt sweetness and subtle hop bitterness. For enhanced tartness, simply let the beer age.
Style: American Wild Ale
Availability: 750 ml bottles
Arrival: TBA
8% ABV

A stout as dark at the winters that once engulfed Westeros, as robust as the men who swear their oaths at the weir wood tree. Chocolate and caramel sweetness are balanced by hop bitterness . Roasty, woodsy notes, and an earthy finish.
Style: Stout
Availability: 750 ml bottles
