Shipyard’s First Barrel Aged Offering Arrives
Shipyard Brewing Company (Portland, ME) has released their first barrel aged offering – Double ESB. The beer has been aged for 100 days in bourbon barrels prior to bottling.

Shipyard Releases First Barrel Aged Offering (PR)
PORTLAND, ME — (September 19, 2012) — Shipyard Brewing Company has released the first in its new line of limited edition bourbon barrel aged ales. 2,100 bottles (350 cases) of Bourbon Barrel Aged Double ESB are quickly selling off store shelves in Maine, New Hampshire, Florida, and California.
In October, 350 cases of Bourbon Barrel Aged Smashed Pumpkin will be released in select markets. In December, a limited number of cases of Bourbon Barrel Aged Prelude will also be released. These brews have all been brewed and carefully cellar-aged in small batches for over 100 days in decanted bourbon barrels. This line of unique beers allows Shipyard’s brew house crew to blend their creativity and passion for beer to create these special, limited release brews.
These 750 milliliter (1 pint 9.4 fluid ounce) bottles are all hand filled, corked, and individually labeled with the bottle number. Recommend serving temperature is 55 degrees Fahrenheit in brandy-style stemware. The suggested retail price is $14.99 per bottle.

Shipyard Releases Pumpkinhead Cans
Shipyard Brewing Company (Portland, ME) has officially released Pumpkinhead Ale in cans. Pumpkinhead (bottles) and Smashed Pumpkin have both arrived in Shipyard markets in bottle and draft. This is the second canned offering by Shipyard – Export cans hit shelves earlier this summer.

Shipyard Brewing Company’s Pumpkinhead Ale Now Available in Cans (PR)
PORTLAND, ME — (September 7, 2012) — Shipyard Brewing Company’s award-winning Pumpkinhead Ale has returned for the season with a new addition to the crop. For the first time, Pumpkinhead is available in cans. Pumpkinhead can 6-packs will hit the shelves in CT, FL, MA, ME, NH, RI, and VT next week with other select markets to follow.
Pumpkinhead Ale is also available nationwide in bottles and on draft. Consumers can check for availability on a state-by-state basis through Shipyard’s Beer Finder.
Earlier this summer, Shipyard released its flagship Export Ale in cans. More information can be found at this link.
Both Pumpkinhead and Shipyard Export Ale can 6-packs have a suggested retail price of $7.99 – $8.99. These products will also be available soon in can 12-packs.

Shipyard Now Brewing In Tennessee, Here Come The Cans
Shipyard Brewing (Portland, ME) has leased a space all the way in Tennessee in order to expand the overall capacity and introduce cans.
“This is a very exciting time in our growth,” stated Shipyard’s president Fred Forsley. “Our brewery in Portland is at full capacity and this allows us to meet consumer demand for our products.”
The new space in Memphis, Tennessee is created to open top ferment, and can Shipyard’s offerings. Export will hit cans this month in Maine and then markets around the United States. This fall? Pumpkinhead in cans.

You read that right. Shipyard Smashed Pumpkin and Weyerbacher Imperial Pumpkin are already hitting shelves. Perfect for 100 degree weather right?

Shipyard’s Smashed Pumpkin is a 9%’er, part of the Pugley’s Signature Series, and available in 22oz bombers. Weyerbacher’s Imperial Pumpkin is 8%, available in 12 oz bottles and draft with the new artwork seen below. I guess the season starts early this year.
