Sam Adams New Year Release is Ironic
While you’re reading this, Boston (and the northeast) is getting dumped on. That’s what makes the brewery’s new seasonal Cold Snap so ironic. It’s their spring seasonal.
Cold Snap is Belgian-style witbier that is replacing the previous seasonal, Alpine Spring. If you think about it, having a spring seasonal (that is done in March) called Cold Snap is pretty perfect. The name doesn’t make it seem completely ridiculous to drink in 2 feet of snow, or when it’s just warm enough to think winter is over. Marketing at its best.
This white ale is brewed with German noble hops (Tettnanger) and copious amounts of wheat. Sam Adams Cold Snap joins the 12oz can lineup, alongside 12oz bottles and draft.
Style: Witbier
Availability: 12oz Bottles, 12 oz Cans, Draft. Jan-March

Sam Adams Porch Rocker Slated For Cans
Samuel Adams will soon expand their can empire with the addition of their German-style radler, Porch Rocker.
Porch Rocker is a lager/lemonade blend that is already available in 12oz bottles as a seasonal. The “shandy” blend will join Boston Lager, Oktoberfest, and Winter Lager in the special Samuel Adams can design.
Style: Radler (w/ Lemon)

Samuel Adams Kolsch Returning
Samuel Adams has already released a kolsch recently; East-West Kolsch. It was a summer seasonal.
Escape Route is also a kolsch, yet doesn’t seem to mention the use of Jasmine Sambac as a spice, found in the East-West offering. More to come on this future offering from Boston Beer Co.
Style: Kolsch
Availability: 12oz bottles
Arrival: Spring, 2014

Spring Sam Adams: Cold Snap
Is Samuel Adams Cold Snap a rebrand of the White Ale? It looks that way. The spring seasonal white ale uses a host of different spices like coriander and orange peel to create a complex, smooth flavor.
Crisp & lively, the hazy smoothness of this unfiltered White Ale is roused by the cracking of spring spices. From a hint of sweetness from orange peel & plum to the peppery bite of fresh ground coriander, the subtle blend of spices creates just the right refreshing kick to signal that spring is on its way. Cheers!
Style: White Ale (w/ Orange Peel, Coriander, Plum)
