Oskar Blues PINNER Throwback IPA Joins Year Round Offerings

Oskar Blues PINNER Throwback IPA joins the brewery’s year-round lineup in this month. PINNER will launch in Colorado and North Carolina initially, before making its way across the brewery’s distribution network.

Dry-hopping with several different heady hops, including a killer experimental variety, gives PINNER this tropical, stoned fruit aroma with hints of pine and smooth malt in the flavor.

Oskar Blues PINNER Throwback IPA is a lower alcohol by volume IPA that is easy to “throwback.” Available in 12oz cans.

Oskar Blues Adds Missouri Distribution

Oskar Blues Brewing (Longmont, CO/Brevard, NC) is launching distribution in Missouri. The brewery has signed a distribution deal with Major Brands to bring the entire lineup to the state.

The lineup includes: Dale’s Pale Ale, Mama’s Little Yella Pils, available in 12oz cans, and the CANundrum Variety Pack. Dale’s and Mama’s will also be available in the 19.2oz stovepipe cans. Old Chub Nitro, is available in 16.4-ounce four-packs.

In addition, “The Imperials” – Deviant Dale’s IPA and G’Knight Red IPA, will be sold in 16-ounce four-packs. Fall/winter Seasonal, Ten FIDY, and spring/summer Seasonal, GUBNA, will also be available in 12-ounce four-packs.

Oskar Blues distributes to 36 states, plus Washington D.C.

Oskar Blues Burning CAN Fest Coming to Colorado & NC

Oskar Blues Burning CAN Beer Festival returns for a third year in 2014. The festival will be held in Lyon, Colorado and feature 50 can-centric breweries and 150+ beers from all over the United States.

The festival kicks off on May 31st, with a VIP session ($45) from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. (1 hour early access) for $45 dollars.  General session ($30 in advance & $35 day-of) which runs from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Proceeds from Burning CAN will be raised through the Oskar Blues CAN’d Aid Foundation and will benefit the Town of Lyons Parks & Rec department and the Colorado Brewers Guild.

“The CAN’d Aid Foundation has raised over $600,000 for flood relief since the September floods & Burning Can Beer Fest has provided more than $40,000 for the Town of Lyons Parks & Recreation department and the Colorado Brewers Guild over the past 3 years, but this year it’s even more important to get together and celebrate the spirit of Lyons and continue raise money to help rebuild our town.” said Lyons resident & Oskar Blues marketing director, Chad Melis.

Oskar Blues’ new (second) home in Brevard, North Carolina will also have a Burning CAN Festival in 2014, on July 5th. More info to follow.

The World of Oskar Blues Cans [VIDEO]

If you have paid any attention to the brewing industry over the past couple of years, you’ve noticed a trend. The evolution of beer in cans. No longer for light beer anymore.

Oskar Blues Hits Southern Alabama

Oskar Blues first launched in Alabama in June 2012. While OB was well received, the brewery hasn’t covered the entire state yet. This week, southern Alabama gets some Colorado/North Carolina love.  The brewery has partnered with Gulf Distributing out of Mobile.

  • Oskar Blues Tap Takeover at Mellow Mushroom in Daphne – 5 to 8 p.m.
  • Oskar Blues Can Night featuring 19.2 Dale’s Pale Ale and Mama’s Little Yella Pils with live music and giveaways at The Brickyard – 9-11 p.m.

Oskar Blues Expands to Indiana

Oskar Blues (Colorado/North Carolina) will be available in Indiana starting in November.

The lineup will be carried through Monarch Beverage based in Indianapolis. The addition of Indiana brings the Oskar Blues distribution footprint up to to 32 states.

Shipwrecked is the Oskar Blues/Brewdog Collaboration

Oskar Blues (Colorado & North Carolina) recently collaborated abroad with Scottish craft brewer Brewdog. The duo brewed a boozy barleywine that clocks in at 10.5% ABV. The beer is aggressive; a beer “for people who enjoy nonsense and walking on tightropes.”

This is available in Brewdog’s shop if you want bottles stateside.

Malts: Extra Pale, Munich, Crystal, Chocolate
