Bruery / Elysian / Stone La Citrueille Céleste de Citracado Released
Stone Brewing Co. announces its newest collaboration beer a will be arriving over the next few weeks. Stone’s Steve Wagner & Mitch Steele worked with The Bruery‘s Patrick Rue and Tyler King as well as Elysian Brewing Company‘s Dick Cantwell to develop Bruery / Elysian / Stone La Citrueille Céleste de Citracado, an amber ale brewed with pumpkins grown on Stone Farms, yams, rye, toasted fenugreek, birch bark, and lemon verbena.
“All of us are kind of known for big, imperial beers, and the fact that we came together to make this mellower pumpkin beer… I think it was very restrained and dignified of us,” jokes Rue. “And I think we brought some really interesting spice additions to the table.”
Steele explains: “The yam and pumpkin make their appearance on the finish, with some Eastern-influenced spiciness and trace maple notes from the toasted fenugreek, combining with hints of birch. This is no pumpkin pie beer. No cloves. No nutmeg. No cinnamon.”

A Fall Collaboration for Stone, The Bruery, and Elysian
Mitch Steele of Stone Brewing, Patrick Rue and Tyler King of The Bruery, and Dick Cantwell of Elysian Brewing all got together at Stone Brewing a couple of weeks ago to bring an idea they’ve had for about a year to life. Why not brew a fall collaboration beer using pumpkins grown at Stone Farms? That is exactly what they did, adding ingredients such as yams and fenugreek suggested by The Bruery and a bushel of lemon verbena suggested by Mitch Steele. Additional ingredients thrown in for good measure include New Zealand Motueka Hops; rye, brown, and honey malts; C-15 dextrine malt; and birch bark. The Stone kitchens were used to roast 1,800lbs of pumpkin and 450 lbs of yams. It was then pureed and added to the mash.
The collaboration will be named Le Citrueille Celest de Citricado, which means “the heavenly pumpkin of Citricado”. Citricado = the street Stone Brewing is on. As is usual with a Stone collaboration, all three brewers wrote their own label. The beer will be served at the Elysian The Great Pumpkin Beer Festival on 10/8 & 10/9.

New Belgium Kick & Clutch Arrive
The newest Lips Of Faith Beers from New Belgium are hitting shelves. (Or has depending on what part of the country you are in)
Kick – Fruit/Veg Beer, 8.5% ABV. Brewed with Elysian Brewing, Kick is slightly sour. Pumpkins, cranberries and a little oak aging stretches this flavor across the entire fall season. This puts NB’s & Elysian’s collaboration count to near 10. If you like slightly tart/sour beers with a touch of fruit, don’t miss this beer.
Clutch – American Stout ,9% ABV. Named for Maryland-based hard rock band. NB describes it best with: The sour stout has a pronounced bass line of dark chocolate, coffee and black malts that bridge the sourness of the dark wood ale for a fluid riff. Clutch is a roasty stout with a twinge of sour notes. A rockstar.
Availability: 22oz bombers, Some Draft
