Ecliptic Brewing sells

Ecliptic Brewing in Portland, Oregon has announced the brewery has been sold.

Ecliptic Brewing announced this week that the brewery has officially been sold, per the brewery’s owner and brewmaster John Harris.

In an Instagram announcement, the Harris stated the last two years of brewery operations have been challenging – citing the pandemic, rising cost of goods, and overall economic climate. “It has gotten to the point where we are no longer able to continue operations, and the company has been sold,” the statement reads.

“A Bigger Entity.”

Harris mentioned in the statement that the sale will allow the brewery to pay back debts with a “bigger entity” – which has now been disclosed as Great Frontier Holdings that includes Ninkasi Brewing and Wings & Arrow Beer Company.

The restaurant will be open through Saturday, November 18th.

The Ecliptic Brewing beers and production will presumably continue on through Great Frontier Holdings channels.

Ecliptic Brewing opened their “Mothership” restaurant and brewery in October of 2013. In November 2021, Ecliptic took over Base Camp Brewing’s space in southeast Portland- renaming the location “The Moon Room.”

Ecliptic Brewing to open 2nd brewery this summer

Ecliptic Brewing Portland

Portland, Oregon-based Ecliptic Brewing is opening a second location in nearby Southeast Portland this summer.

Ecliptic is calling the new space the “The Moon Room,” taking over Base Camp Brewing’s space that closed earlier this year.

“We’ve been talking about opening another location for a long time now, so we’re really stoked about this opportunity. There’s a lot of work ahead to make it happen, but the team is excited for growth,” says John Harris, Ecliptic owner, and brewmaster.

“The Moon Room” will be more than a taproom – it will be a full brewery and production facility, complete with a custom Ecliptic food truck and full bar. Expect the new facility to have an emphasis on lager production.

Ecliptic Brewing’s “Moon Room” is located at 930 SE Oak Street, Portland.

Fun fact. A quasar is the small region around a supermassive black hole (found in the center of massive galaxies). The area emits a massive amount of electromagnetic energy, thanks to the mass from the core of the surrounding galaxy due gravitational influence of the black hole, getting pulled into the accretion disk. (The disk is thanks to the gravitational pull into the black hole.) Basically – massive energy release, and extremely fascinating astronomical phenomena. However, the pale ale requires less math.

Portland, Oregon’s Ecliptic Brewing is releasing their first canned offering starting March 1st, after three years of brewing. Ecliptic Starburst IPA ships this week.
