Jackalope Rompo Red Ale Canned

Jackalope Rompo

Jackalope Rompo Red Ale, the Nashville, Tennessee’s spin on an Irish red ale, has just found a new home in 12oz cans. The brewery tapped Toucan Mobile Canning for the packaging venture.

Rompo is a twist on an Irish Red, using classic earthy UK hops and caramel malts. We gave it our own Tennessee take by adding flaked rye to the mash. Rompo is a very smooth drinking brew with notes of fruit and caramel, while the rye contributes a spicy and clean finish.

Jackalope Rompo Red Ale joins Thunder Ann Pale Ale in cans.

Style: Red Ale
Availability: 12oz Cans, Draft
Release: June, 2015

5.6% ABV, 22 IBUs

Rogue Celebrates 21 Years of Hellboy

Rogue Right Hand of Doom Red Ale

Rogue Ales (Newport, OR) celebrates 21 years of Dark Horse Comic’s Hellboy with a new (obviously red) offering. Rogue Hellboy Right Hand of Doom Red Ale debuts this month.

In case you don’t know who Hellboy is, his real name is Anung Un Rama, a demon summoned from Hell to Earth by Nazi occultists. For that reason, Hellboy hates them. He was discovered by Professor Trevor Bruttenholm, who formed the United States Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense (BPRD), for whom he works, fighting evils like the Nazis and Baba Yaga.

As for the beer, what better way to celebrate the big red guy, than with a red ale.

This is a red ale brewed with all the same passion and intensity that Mike Mignola and Dark Horse have brought to the creation of Hellboy for the last 21 years. You might not enjoy it more than the next issue, but you’ll certainly enjoy your favorite character’s stories more with one of these in your right hand.

Rogue Hellboy Right Hand of Doom Red Ale will be available in 22oz bottles. You’ll be able to order it online through Rogue’s website as well.

Style: Red Ale
Availability: 22oz Bottles
Release: 2/20/15

Monday Night “Master Splinter” to Join Black Tie Series

Monday Night Master Splinter

Monday Night Brewing (Atlanta, GA) readies a new Black Tie Series release, Master Splinter. The series is a formal, fancy, experimental series by the brewery.

Master Splinter will be an imperial red ale, aged on hard maple. (Yeah, I giggled too.)

Some of the greatest men on Earth did big things with wooden sticks in their hands. Theodore Roosevelt. Hank Aaron. Judge Judy. Gandolf. We made beer for the folks wielding sticks, risking sprinters every time they swing a bat. Or cast a spell. Or do ninja stuff.

This red ale has the the malt backbone and creamy mouthfeel you’d expect from a red, but with a little something extra. It’s dry-hopped with the floral East Kent Golding hop, and aged on hard maple. None of the sissy soft maple your mom uses.

Monday Night Master Splinter will be available in 22oz bottles and draft.

Style: Red Ale (Maple Aged)
Availability: 22oz Bottles, Draft.
Release: TBA

9% ABV
