Breakside Passionfruit Sour, a Great American Beer Festival silver medal winning sour, returns as a summer seasonal this week.
Our award winning sour ale returns as our official “summer seasonal.” Passionfruit Sour is brewed as a traditional German Berliner weisse, and then we add a unique, tropical twist. We use lactic acid producing bacteria to produce a beer that is light in body, extremely refreshing, and mouth puckeringly tart. The addition of passionfruit in our lagering tanks gives this beer an inviting stonefruit aroma.
Breakside Passionfruit Sour is a 22 ounce bottle offering, as well as draft, available from July through September.
Availability: 22oz Bombers
Distribution: Draft. OR, WA, HI, & BC

Breakside La Tormenta, a dry-hopped sour ale has retuned to the lineup once again.
Breakside La Tormenta was a very popular small batch offering released in early 2014, prompting a wider release. This sour ale uses a blend of citrus-y, tropical hops that offset the strong sour notes of this beer.
Notes of blueberry, guava, grapefruit, and lemongrass are offset by a juicy acidity, medium body, and a moderate sweetness from caramel malt.
Breakside La Tormenta is available in 22oz bombers, and draft.

Malts: Two Row, German Acidulated and Vienna Malts, Crystal 20L

Breakside Oui, Chef joins the brewery’s Farmhouse, Fruit and Funk Series. Each release in the series is a funky offering available for two months, showcasing non-traditional ingredients.
Oui, Chef is a straw-colored farmhouse ale brewed with European spelt and two types of fennel. We use both fennel seed and fennel pollen at different points in the brewing process to layer in the complex savory and herbal notes from the spice. Originally brewed as part of our Chef Collaboration series in 2012, this beer was designed by our brewers and Chef Gabriel Rucker of Le Pigeon Restaurant in Portland.
Breakside Oui, Chef is has just released on draft. 22oz Bottles in June.

A Pacific northwest collaboration debuts in June – Breakside Back to the Future IPA.
This new collaboration features Fremont Brewing (Seattle, WA) creating a big India pale ale, with a mix of fun hop varietals, like Azacca, Ella, Jarrylo, Equinox.
We specifically chose new varietals that we think have a lot of promise, and it’s named after the futuristic hops used in each version: Jarrylo and Equinox in Fremont’s, and Azacca and Ella in ours. These beers very might well introduce you to new hop varietals that will be front and center in many IPAs to come.
Broadside Back to the Future IPA will be available in 22oz bottles and draft, starting June 12th.
Hops: Chinook, Ella, Azacca
Malts: Two Row, Light Crystal
