Monday Night Brewing adds Memphis distribution

Atlanta based Monday Night Brewing is adding distribution to Memphis, Tennessee. The brewery has signed a distribution deal with A.S. Barbaro.

In 2018, the brewery added Chattanooga, Nashville, and Knoxville distribution and found a great fan reception.

“We were pleasantly surprised by the reaction we got in Tennessee when we expanded to Chattanooga, Nashville, and Knoxville last year. So we knew that we wanted to also come to Memphis and the rest of West Tennessee. But we also wanted to make sure that we could keep up with the demand of our other markets. After purchasing some new equipment and adding more staff, we’re confident we can handle the additional load.”  – ”  Monday Night Brewing CEO and co-founder Jeff Heck

Memphis drinkers can expect Monday Night’s core and seasonal releases starting in May 2019.

Monday Night Bourbon Barrel Drafty Kilt cans return

Monday Night Bourbon Barrel Drafty Kilt can

Monday Night Bourbon Barrel Drafty Kilt, part of the brewery’s special Black Tie Series, is back in cans ahead of the holidays.

It was 2013 when Atlanta, Georgia first saw Bourbon Barrel-Aged Drafty Kilt. The brewery took their year-round scotch ale Drafty Kilt and aged it in fresh Heaven Hill bourbon barrels. The result won Monday Night a gold at the Great American Beer Festival.

In 2017, Monday Night decided to can Black Tie Series BBA Drafty Kilt, of which series has seen new siblings like Cardigans of the Galaxy, Space Lettuce, Piranha Dealer and Don’t Call it Hotlanta. “It’s full-bodied, slightly smoky and sweet character lends itself perfectly to Kentucky bourbon barrels. Our first batch blew people away, so we decided to make it an annual holiday tradition,” says brewery co-founder Jonathan Baker.

Monday Night Bourbon Barrel Drafty Kilt is available in 12-ounce cans and draft for a limited time starting November 19th.

Style: Scotch Ale (Barrel Aged, Bourbon)
Hops: Columbus, Willamette
Malts: Roasted Barley, Chocolate Malt, Crystal Malt, Cherrywood-smoked

Monday Night set to release 14 month bourbon barreled ‘Last Will and Testament’

Monday Night Last Will and Testament

Monday Night Last Will and Testament will join the Atlanta brewery’s lineup on September 22nd.

Old ale isn’t necessarily “old” per say. Many of these old world styles have aged for some time in wood vats. One of the most famous British examples is Gale’s Prize Old Ale.

The old ale style has evolved over the decades and centuries. Almost always malty and strong, some of the famous examples in the United States are North Coast Old Stock Ale, Founders Curmudgeon, or Bell’s Third Coast Old Ale. (Incidentally, Founders Curmudgeon’s Better Half, a barrel aged edition of this beer is on shelves now after 6 years.)

Monday Night’s interpretation of the style is malty and strong (11.5% alcohol by volume), and perhaps a little “old” as well – aged 14 months in bourbon barrels. Why “Last Will & Testament?” Perhaps an allusion to old age. Good to have one.

Monday Night Last Will & Testament will be available in 16.9-ounce bottles at the brewery’s Garage location on September 22nd.

Style: Old Ale (Barrel Aged. Bourbon.)
Availability: 16.9oz Bottles
Debut: 9/22/18

11.5% ABV
