Brooklyn Heads To Sweden For New Brewery Restaurant

Brooklyn Brewery, D. Carnegie & Co., and Carlsberg Sweden announced the launch of a new brewery and restaurant in central Stockholm, Sweden. The new digs face Stockholm’s waterfront, and will have a 8,000 barrel capacity.

The Brooklyn Brewery will manage and operate the project through a Swedish subsidiary, and the U.S. brewing team will travel to stockholm to brew in the future.

“We love Stockholm, and the whole Brooklyn brewing team is looking forward to their stints at Brooklyn-New Carnegie. We’re going to have a lot of fun brewing and creating beers with our Swedish team,” said Oliver.

Other interesting things to note – Brooklyn Brewery collaborated with Carnegie on a bourbon barrel version of Carnegie Porter for the 175th Anniversary of Carnegie Brewery. Carnegie Porter has been distributed in New York by Brooklyn a few years ago. Brooklyn Lager and East India Pale Ale are currently available throughout Sweden.

3rd Wave To Open In Del Mar, Delaware

Evolution Brewing recently relocated to Salisbury, Maryland, seeking a larger place to brew.  They left behind an 85% equipped building in need of some brew love.  Evo’s old place will now be home to 3rd Wave Brewing, set to open as early as July, 2012.

Ironically, Suellen Vickers and Lori Clough are from Salisbury, and have teamed up to buy the new place.  They currently await Federal government approval.   First beers will be an IPA, Porter & Pilsner.  Future plans include bottling and distribution. [DelmarvaNow]
