Atlanta Summer Beerfest

Probably should have mentioned this a bit sooner.  I’ve tried to get in touch with the organizers of this festival, but they have been playing hard to get. The Atlanta Summer Beerfest is tomorrow – 6/26/10 from 5-10 pm.  Local breweries Sweetwater, Red Brick, and Terrapin will featured.

Here is the official info release:

The Atlanta Summer Beer Fest has been designed to be the coolest and most enjoyable beer fest that you will attend this year.  We will be pouring 6 oz. tastings sizes, twice as much as most other beer festivals.  We want you to enjoy your beer, not just taste it.  If you ask nicely, we may even fill your cup.  The Festival is from 5pm — 10pm, as the sun goes down and the temperature drops.

We also want you to have a good time, we will have Flip Cup, Beer Pong, and Cornhole for your enjoyment.

We are also bringing back the Dunking Booth.  That’s right, here’s your chance to dunk someone who will either be good looking or annoying, maybe even both.  All proceeds from the Dunking Booth will go to charity.

We have a great band playing music for you, Stokeswood.  Check them out, we promise you’ll like them.

We have a great after party scheduled inside the Masquerade, with several fun bands.  The after party is free with your festival admission.

Sponsors Include: Beer Connoisseur Magazine, Tower Beer, Wine, & Spirits, Greens, and Mac’s Beer & Wine.

Where: Masquerade Music Park

Joining the line up –

Full Sail – IPA, Pale Ale, Amber, Session Lager, Session Black, LTD 2

Southampton – Double White, Keller Pils, Altbier

Sierra Nevada – Pale Ale, Summerfest

Abita – Purple Haze, Jockamo, Restoration Pale

Leinenkugel – Summer Shandy, Berry Weiss, Sunset Wheat, Amber

East Atlanta Beer Fest Tickets On Sale!

It’s that time again! Festival season.  This morning brings the news of East Atlanta Beerfest tickets officially going on sale.   As it was last year, there are general admission tickets, and VIP tickets.   VIP gets you 1 hour early entrance, 12-15 beers not in general admin, special bathrooms,  EABF bottle opener, special VIP tent access, even your own entrance to the festival.  All for the low, low price of $55 dollars.

The proceeds of EABF benefit non profit organizations in East Atlanta.  A few notables that benefited last year  – YMCA after school programs, local schools, historic cemetery restorations, local park funding etc.  Drinking beer does great things for your community!

WHAT ABOUT THE BEER???  Well, EABF features around 130 brewers from damn near everywhere.  The lineup is currently being determined, so I will milk my inside sources for information and post soon.  Either way, you’ll find a lot of great craft beer so its worth a trip.

You can also sign up on the EABF website to volunteer if you’d like.   Signups begin April 9th, so head over to the EABF site then.  There are benefits to volunteering!

So, thats the short, short version.  Today is the day to secure your tickets.  If I were you, I’d click HERE now!
