New Belgium’s Mothership Wit On Hiatus In 2012

It’s been out of stock for a few weeks now, and then removed from price lists in 2012. I’m talking about New Belgium’s Mothership Wit.  That warranted a little investigation.  As it turns out, New Belgium will be placing Mothership Wit on indefinite hiatus at the end of this year.  Wit is New Belgium’s first organic beer, made with copious amounts of wheat.

The brewery just released Prickly Passion Saison, and Fresh Hop Ale, both bombers on shelves & tap handles right now.  Also, seasonal favorite Frambozen is currently available.… Read the rest

New Belgium Fresh Hop & Prickly Passion Round Out 2011

New Belgium Brewing rounds out their 2011 Lips of Faith series with these 2 new releases: Fresh Hop India Pale Ale and Prickly Passion Saison.   These releases follow the recent and very popular Clutch and Kick Lips Of Faith releases.

Fresh Hop India Pale Ale – IPA, 7% ABV, 70 IBUs.  Packs a citrus punch of Amarillo, Centennial and Cascade hops, straight off the vine in Washington State.  This brazen and deliciously bitter IPA pours deeply golden with the slight haze of a really hoppy beer.  The array of hops gives a sharp blast, but the finish is light and dry.Read the rest
