Stone IPA now available in cans for the first time

Stone IPA can

Stone Brewing announced in February that they will be canning at their new Berlin, Germany brewery. The cans would be distributed around Europe. That announcement came much to the chagrin of American fans, who wanted cans stateside.

It wasn’t long before the American fans would get the good news.

Now, Stone IPA is hitting shelves in 12 ounce cans for the first time since being released in 1997.  Just in time for summer.

By definition, an India pale ale is hoppier and higher in alcohol than its little brother, pale ale—and we deliver in spades. Now one of the most well-respected and best-selling IPAs in the country, this golden beauty explodes with citrusy, piney hop flavors and aromas, all perfectly balanced by a subtle malt character. This crisp, extra hoppy brew is hugely refreshing on a hot day, but will always deliver no matter when you choose to drink it.

Stone IPA is a 12 ounce bottle, 12 ounce can, and draft offering, year-round.

Style: IPA
Hops: Magnum, Chinook, Centennial
Availability: 12oz Cans, 22oz Bottles, Draft. Year-round

Debut (Cans): Late May/June, 2016

6.9% ABV

  1. Too funny. Was just enjoying Stone IPA in bottles the other day and I mumbled that I wished it was in cans instead!

  2. When Stone jumps on the canning train , that should tell you something. Many more breweries will make the move to cans , as it should be. The cans versus bottles myth must be put to rest. Better for the beer , cheaper for the breweries to ship and so on….now lets see if that will be reflected in the pricing.

  3. Loyal Costco/Stone IPA customer for, well, forever. I hate the Stone IPA in cans and may switch brews altogether.
