Hangar 24 Craft Brewery (Redlands, CA) released their first canned offerings this week. With this release, they are the first Southern California brewery to can and bottle their beer. Initial offerings include:
Orange Wheat – Crisp, Tangy, and Refreshing. The citrus aroma, light airy mouthfeel, and tangy finish are this unfiltered beer’s trademarks. This is accomplished by adding whole locally grown oranges throughout the brewing process, which perfectly coalesce with the wheat and barley base.
Helles Lager – Traditional and Sweet. This Munich style Helles bears all its delicacies for you to enjoy with nothing to hide. Sweet candy-like malt sweetness and a hint of German noble hop flavor and aroma is what this craft lager is all about.
Both are now available year round in 12oz cans.
Ed Note: Thanks to a few concerned readers, Golden Road Brewery seems to be the first to can in SoCal. Thanks guys…

Hangar 24 first to can in SoCal? Does Golden Road in Los Angeles not count? They’ve been canning for well over a year (maybe longer).
Is L.A. considered SoCal? That’s a geographic question I don’t know the answer to…
I believe that H24 is the first SoCal brewery to both CAN and BOTTLE their beer as, like Justin pointed out, Golden Road has been canning for about a year.
