Bell’s Hopslam Nationwide Release Events

Bell’s Hopslam excites beer drinkers in every market.  The brewery has been kind enough to post a smattering of events to look forward to. Wherever your glasses may be waiting.  As always, use  Bell’s Beer Finder to find where the beer will be near you.

Georgia

Feb. 3-6: Aromas Wine and Craft Beer Bar will host 10 Bell’s beers on draught including Hopslam. For more information, go here.

Illinois

Jan. 18: Hopslam tapping at Tribes Alehouse in Mokena at 4 p.m.

Feb. 7: Sheffield’s in Chicago will host a Bell’s multi-tap event starting at 8 p.m. Hopslam, Oracle, firkins and food specials will be featured along with many other beers on draft. For more information, go here.

Indiana

Jan. 12: Hopslam release party at Chatham Tap Downtown in Indianapolis at 5 p.m. Winter White, Oarsman, Porter, Two Hearted and Expedition Stout will also be on tap.

Kentucky

Jan. 28: Nine Bell’s beers will be featured at this multi-tap event including Hopslam at Beer Engine in Danville.

Michigan

Jan. 9: Hopslam tapping at Ashley’s in Ann Arbor at 4:30 p.m. The first official pour will go to the best Hopslam poem or haiku.

Jan. 12: Hopslam firkin tapping at Central City Tap House in Kalamazoo at 5:30 p.m. sharp. Other Bell’s beers will also be featured on draft along with their weekly raw bar.

Feb. 3: Hopslam release party at Plum Market in West Bloomfield at 6:30 p.m. Other Bell’s beers will also be featured along with pizza and beer snacks. This event will also kick-off a month long Bell’s sale. For more information, go here.

Jan. 30: Hopslam cask at Flying Saucer in Kansas City at 7 p.m.

Jan. 31 Beer dinner/Hopslam cask at Sycamore Restaurant in Columbia at 6 p.m. (Please note, this event is sold out.)

Feb. 1: Hopslam firkin tapping at Cicero’s in St. Louis (during their Beer School).

Wisconsin

Jan. 13: Hopslam release party at The Rumpus Room in Milwaukee at 10 p.m.

Jan. 25: Hopslam and Black Note tasting at The Malthouse in Madison at 7 p.m.

Jan. 26: Hopslam and Black Note release party at Bodega Brew Pub in La Crosse at 7 p.m.

Jan. 29: This Bell’s beer dinner will feature five courses and five beers including Hopslam at Barker’s Bar & Grill starting at 6 p.m.

Feb. 7: This beer dinner will feature five breweries and five different restaurants in Milwaukee. Bell’s will team up with the restaurant Tess to present a spicy shrimp soup paired with a firkin of Hopslam

Avery Anniversary Party 8/7, Immitus Releases 9/10

Avery Brewing (Boulder, CO) celebrates 18 years on Sunday 8/7.  Party runs from 12 noon to 5pm

Mark your calendars and get ready to party with Avery Brewing Company and a few thousand of our biggest fans: the Avery Anniversary Party is back again for summer 2011! Just like years past, we’ll be reveling with a plethora of Avery beers, all-you-can-eat BBQ and rocking out to the tunes of several of Boulders best bands. Please join us for this epic day in celebration of all things Avery!
Here’s the scoop: $25 at the door gains you admission to the outdoor party from 12PM-5PM, five Avery beers and all-you-can-eat BBQ (vegetarian options too)! As with the 2010 event, we will also be selling a VIP ticket for $40, which will gain you access to our Barrel-Aging Cellars to escape the heat and give you the opportunity to taste 10+ different beers from an exclisive lineup consisting of Avery beers from our Barrel-Aged Series, Avery Tap Room one-offs and other experimental oddities.

Also, Avery’s 9th Barrel Aged Series Immitus releases 9/10/11.  Immitus is an offensively sour ale aged in a 11 different zinfandel barrels.  198 cases to be produced.

Short’s Brewing Turns 7

Short’s Brewing Company turns 7 this year.  Founded in 2004, Short’s output was a mere 178 barrels. 2010 was Short’s biggest year to date.  Short’s is holding a 7 year celebration on Saturday, April 30th.  From Shorts:

On Saturday, April 30, 2011 we are celebrating the fact that it’s been 7 years since we opened our doors in Bellaire, Michigan. It is no secret that Short’s and our loyal fans are taking over the Michigan craft beer scene and that we have a lot to celebrate! Since 2010 was the biggest year in Short’s history, we decided to make this year’s Anniversary Party more epic than ever before!

The party kicks off at 3 p.m. We will have about 30 beers on tap for you to try, including several new beers never served at our pub before, plus cask Anniversary Ale, Cask Golden Rule, and two other specialty casked beers to be announced! These special cask beers kick off of our Real Ale Program, and you will not want to miss them! Aside from the new cask beers, the beer list will include: Anniversary Ale, Huma Lupa Licious, Magician, Pandemonium Pale Ale, Soft Parade, Bellaire Brown, Autumn Ale, Village Reserve, Locals Light, Pontius Road Pilsner, Chocolate Wheat, Sustenance Black Ale, Rye Not, Belgian IPA, Black Licorice, Bludgeon Yer EyePA, Bananarama, Key Lime Pie, Curl, Hangin’ Frank, Carrot Cake, Mama’s Milk, Richard in the Dirt, Pineapple Side Down, Whiskey Sour, 2008 Black Cherry Porter, 2008 Chocolate Raspberry Shorter, 2008 Noble Chaos. In addition, Bourbon Sustenance, Bourbon Black Cherry Porter, Bourbon Wizard, and Good Samaritan will be available to those touring our brewery.

The party will also feature a special menu, a State of the Brewery Address from Joe Short, commemorative t-shirts, and live music by Reggie and the After Party, Valentiger, and Kieth Scott.

Port’s 5 Year Party

Port/Lost Abbey Brewing celebrates 5 years on May 14th, 2011.  The party will be held on site at the brewery in San Marcos, California.  Tickets are 5 dollars and split into 2 sessions for your drinking pleasure.

Come party with Port Brew height ing and The Lost Abbey and celebrate our 5th Anniversary on Saturday May 14, 2011.  Like last year we’ll be breaking the party into two sessions and limiting the number of guests so everyone can relax and enjoy themselves Items on tap for our daylong festivities include specialty kegs from the barrel archives, bottled beer releases, special barrelhouse tours, amazing street food from our in-house chefs, and live music from our two special guests –Kiera and the Lesbians and The Professors.

Brews:

Following our anniversary tradition, not only will we be loading all our taps with the latest and greatest of our beers, but we’ll be releasing Anniversary – the fifth release of our hoppy, strong pale ale from the Port Brewing side of the house.

DOBO Tomme Arthur will also be delving into the storied Lost Abbey barrel and bottle archives to give guests an opportunity to sample rare brews from the past half-decade. (Look for special bottles, and secret taps all day long!)

Food:
For those of you who enjoy five star food, this year chef Jason Danderand will be heading the outdoor kitchen and barbequing, steaming, smoking, broiling and baking his way through a stunning assortment of street foods with a unique “San Diego” culinary spin.

Special Tours:
Lead Brewer and Keeper of the Barrels, Ryan Fields, and our new QAD, Gwen Conlley (née Flying Dog), will be hosting tours of our famous barrelhouse, giving guests an opportunity to see where our beers await the angels on high (and possibly learn a few of the secrets behind one of American craft brewing’s most famous barrel programs).

Music:
We’ll have two bands playing this year. The first session will feature the vintage-tinged garage, folk, rock and roll sounds of Kiera and the Lesbians. The second session will play host to our favorite lounge lizards, The Professors, who will be performing their own special brand of sophisticated Surf Music.

Stone’s 15th Anni Extravaganza!

2011 is Stone Brewing’s 15th year.  That means two things – a party, and Stone’s 15th Anniversary Ale.   This year’s party is bigger and better than ever before.   This years celebration is scheduled for August 19-20, 2011. Here’s the event breakdown.

Friday Night Brewers Reception – $75

  • Access to the Rare Beer tent up the hill. It’s less crowded and much cooler!
  • Your 10 wristband tabs may be used in BOTH the Rare Beer tent and the main festival area (these 10 tickets are for the entire day, no additional tasters will be sold)
  • The privilege to come and go between the main festival area and the Rare Beer tent
  • Dozens of extremely rare and one-off brews available ONLY in the Rare Beer tent
