Great Divide 21st Anniversary Sour Ale Debuts This Weekend

Great Divide 21st American Sour Ale

Great Divide 21st Anniversary beer is a departure from the previous birthday releases.

If you’ve been following Great Divide’s Anniversary Series, you’ve seen oak aged imperial IPAs, a strong ale with birch syrup, and a Belgian-style ale with grape juice. This year, the brewery is releasing a sour ale, aged in red wine barrels.

This American sour is a celebration of 21 years of brewing with Bold Character. This commemorative release opens up with a bright, tart, kiwi and citrus notes before mellowing out with a hint of oak and subtle white wine-like character. Soured with lactobacillus and brettanomyces and aged for 9 months in wine barrels, 21st Anniversary  is notably complex while retaining a delicate approachability.

Great Divide 21st Anniversary debuts on June 13th, at Great Divide’s second location in Denver on Brighton Boulevard.

Style: American Wild Ale (Wine Barrel Aged)
Availability: 750ml Bottles
Release: 6/13/15

Great Divide Orabelle Planned for Cans

Great Divide Orabelle Cans

A bit more on the Great Divide Brewing can front. The future can lineup in 2015 will feature (at various times) Titan IPA, Hibernation Ale, Colette, and now Orabelle.

Great Divide Orabelle is a seasonal Belgian-style tripel, released in draft and 12oz bottles.

ORABELLE is brewed with barley, wheat, oats, and rye.  This Belgian-Style Tripel is a golden beauty.  Its two yeast strains, orange peel and dash of coriander impart surprising complexity and richness to this delicate ale. Don’t let Orabelle’s demure nature fool you; this is one flavorful pour.  Watch out, she’s a charmer – one sip and you’ll be in love.

Great Divide Orabelle typically arrives in January, but the canning line won’t be producing until closer to summer, 2015. The brewery will outline the can lineup closer to production.

Style: Belgian-style Tripel
Availability: 12oz bottles, Draft. Seasonal Release. 12oz cans (Planned)
Arrival: TBA

8.3% ABV

Great Divide Collette To Be Canned

Great Divide Collette Cans

Great Divide Brewing (Denver, CO) will be adding cans to the lineup in 2015, as a part a $30+ million dollar expansion.

Among the initial cans include Titan IPA, Hibernation and their year round farmhouse ale, Colette.

COLETTE is our homage to the saisons that Belgian farm workers have enjoyed for centuries. Brewed with barley, wheat and rice and fermented at high temperatures with a special blend of four different yeast strains, COLETTE is fruity and slightly tart, with a dry finish that makes it that rarest of treats — a beer as refreshing as it is complex.

If the timeline holds, the brewery should launch cans by summer, 2015. Great Divide is already available in 12oz bottles, and draft.

Style: Farmhouse Ale
Availability: 12oz Bottles, Draft. 12oz Cans (2015). Year-round

7.3% ABV
