Starr Hill’s Little Red Roostar Coffee Stout is back in action again as the weather turns colder.
The Charlottesville, Virginia based brewery combines freshly roasted coffee from Red Rooster into their creamy milk stout resulting in a smooth, roasty beer.
Starr Hill’s Little Red RooStarr Coffee Stout is a full-bodied milk stout brewed with coffee from our friends at Red Rooster Coffee Roasters in Floyd, VA. Malt sweetness, chocolate and caramel notes dominate the flavor, while roasted coffee notes add balance and round out the aroma.
Starr Hill Little Red Roostar first launched in March 2013 in 22-ounce bottles. In 2014, it was moved to 12-ounce bottles. Look for it from October through December, seasonally.

Starr Hill Daily Grind will kick off the brewery’s new Heavy Rotation Series in March.
This new series will allow the brewers to focus some brewing efforts away from the India pale ales they are known for, and come up with some interesting new mixes. Interestingly, each beer will have a “mixtape” list on Spotify, created by the brewers.
Starr Hill Daily Grind is a farmhouse style ale, brewed with peppercorns.
Enhancing traditional aromas of spice and citrus, crushed peppercorns bring earthy, bright flavors to the rustic saison farmhouse ale.
Starr Hill Daily Grind will be available in 12 ounce bottles and draft from March through May, 2016.
Debut: March, 2016
Starr Hill The Hook Grapefruit Session IPA will debut in May, 2016. Part of an expanded 2016 seasonal release calendar.
The Charlottesville, Virginia based brewery loves their India pale ales, so when it came to spring and warmer weather, grapefruits and lower alcohol by volume became the way to go.
Real grapefruit zest compliments the bright citrus hop character and a sessionable body brings you back for more.
Starr Hill The Hook Grapefruit Session IPA will be available in 12 ounce bottles, and draft starting in May.
Still Hill Brewery (Charlottesville, VA) updated their logo earlier this year, and now the brewery’s packaging as well has gotten a facelift.
Starr Hill has partnered with Charlottesville-based design shop, Storyware, to develop the brand and artwork for the updated packaging and website.
“This new imagery absolutely elevates our look to the level of our beer through consistency and quality,” said Brian McNelis, Starr Hill’s President and CEO. “We believe these new designs will resonate with our devoted fans, as it truly does with our team at the brewery, and encourage those new to Starr Hill to discover our award-winning beers.”
Starr Hill’s core brands such as Northern Lights IPA, Grateful Pale Ale, The Love Wheat Beer, Double Platinum Imperial IPA and Jomo Vienna-Style Lager are the first with the new artwork. Seasonal releases will be updated as they return throughout the year.
