Three Taverns Releases White Hops
Decatur, Georgia’s Three Taverns Craft Brewery is releasing their fifth beer this month – White Hops White IPA.
The name comes from a piece of Georgia’s brewing history, “White Hops” a beer sold under the nose of alcohol regulators. The beer was brewed by the now defunct Atlanta City Brewery. Since no one is around now to recall what it tasted like, Three Taverns is going to take a crack at it.
Three Taverns White Hops is brewed with citra hops, spices, grapefruit peel, and most importantly, wheat. Look for it on draft initially, and 12oz bottles in January, 2014.

Abita to Add Grapefruit IPA to Harvest Brews
Coming this December, Abita Brewing will be adding Grapefruit Harvest IPA to their Harvest line of brews. The Harvest lines features ingredients grown in Louisiana and harvested at the peak of their season in limited release in small quantities. This beer will feature Louisiana Ruby-Red grapefruit and cascade hops.

Goose Island Sofie Paradisi
Goose Island’s (Chicago, IL) specialty series includes Sofie, a farmhouse ale aged in wine barrels with orange peel. A new spin on Sofie is now available, Sofie Paradisi, with a fruit change- grapefruit.
The change in fruit offers a brighter citrus nose and a distinctly tart finish along with the slight bittersweet characteristics common to grapefruit.

Weyerbacher Seventeen, A Boozy Saison Ships
Weyerbacher Brewing has a little more info on Seventeen, now shipping.
Seventeen is a Saison Ale brewed with pink peppercorns, orange zest, lemon zest, and grapefruit zest. Brewed to the classic “Weyerbacher anniversary requirement” of a strength of 10% abv or more, Seventeen weighs in at a style-obliterating 10.5% abv. Seventeen releases subtle notes of fruit, berry and pepper upon pouring. You’ll notice a balanced sweetness with a touch of citrus and spice with a dry and peppery finish.
Seventeen is a once-and-done release only and will not be here for long! This style of beer should age very, very well. Be sure to get some before it’s gone!

Funkwerks White Hits Bottles
Funkwerks (Ft. Collins, CO) released White in bottles today.
The beer you are holding is a different take on a White beer. We use a saison yeast strain to create a beer with citrus aromas and flavor. Like our Saison we use an extended secondary maturation and bottle conditioning to ensure all these unique qualities are preserved and evolve over time. Serve at 45°F in a tulip glass.

Weyerbacher Celebrates “17”
Weyerbacher Brewing celebrates 17 years this year, with Seventeen. Each milestone is a different style, packed full of flavor. (Sixteen was a braggot, Fifteen was a smoked imperial stout.) Weyerbacher was founded in Easton, Pennsylvania in 1995 by Dan Weirback.
2012’s ale is a saison, brewed with orange peel, lemon peel, grapefruit peel, and pink peppercorns.
