The Bruery 10 Lords A Leaping, featuring 10 different spices

The Bruery 10 Lords A Leaping

The Bruery 10 Lords a Leaping will be the 10th release in the ’12 Days of Christmas’ Series.

A decade ago, Placentia, California based The Bruery debuted the first in a line of 12 Beers brewed in honor of nearly 250-year-old “Twelve Days of Christmas” song. The first beer should be obvious – A Partridge in a Pear Tree, a Belgian strong dark brewed with spices.

Each year, the style has varied, from Two Turtle Doves to this year’s coming release – The Bruery 10 Lords a Leaping.

In lieu of 10 Lords, the brewery has 10 spices “leaping” into this seasonal release. The lineup includes coriander, orange peel, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, allspice, mace, anise, dried apples, and cloves.

Wassail is known for warmth and spices. The tenth verse of our Twelve Beers of Christmas™ saga goes leaps and bounds beyond a traditional winter warmer, drawing inspiration from the dark, spiced ales from Belgium and our love for experimental brewing in SoCal. 10 Lords-A-Leaping is a dark imperial wit ale featuring 10 different spices… which complement the spiced notes imparted from the yeast and prance upon the rich, dark-fruited character of the specialty malts.

The Bruery 10 Lords A Leaping will be a 750-milliliter release.

Style: Imperial WItbier (w/ Coriander, Orange peel, Cinnamon, Ginger. Nutmeg. Allspice. Mace. Star Anise. Dried Apples. Cloves)

Apples, cinnamon, vanilla. Funky Buddha Muy Bonita returns this month.

Funky Buddha Muy Bonita

Funky Buddha Muy Bonita is back in action in March.

A big sister to the Oakland Park, Florida based brewery’s Bonita Applebum Apple Pie Brown (note the allusion to A Tribe Called Quest), Funky Buddha Muy Bonita is anything but small. The imperial brown ale is brewed with apple, cinnamon, and vanilla. Definitely, the bigger, badder “bum”.

Flying Dog Dark & Stormy Ale is the first the new “Sub Rosa” series

Flying Dog Dark & Stormy Ale

Flying Dog Dark & Stormy Ale has been selected as the first experimental release in what the Maryland brewer calls the “Sub Rosa” Series.

In Latin, Sub Rosa means “secret” or “secretly” which makes the small-batch, one-off series aptly named. Cocktail fiends have already probably guessed, Flying Dog Dark & Stormy Ale is based on the drink by the same name.

A traditional Dark and Stormy cocktail features ginger beer, bitters, and dark rum. This beer-cocktail hybrid was created by Kyle Bolte of Flying Dog, and features a touch of ginger spice to offset the vanilla, cinnamon and molasses added to the base beer. Bolte spent what had to be some pretty boring hours of his day tasting rums and ginger beers to find the exact flavors he wanted.

Pairs well with a semi-deserted island with Scarlett Johansson. – Flying Dog

Flying Dog Dark & Stormy Ale will be available in 16 ounce cans at the brewery only, on March 11th. Each release will be limited to 50 cases, thanks to the limitations the pilot system. A “Lactose IPA” is slated for April.

Style:           (w/ Ginger, Molasses, Vanilla Beans, Cinnamon.)
Availability: 16oz Cans. Limited Run
Debut: 3/11/17

7.4% ABV
