Exclusive First Look: Innis & Gunn’s First IPA

In late October, I got the opportunity to sit down with Dougal Gunn Sharp, the founder of Innis & Gunn. He founded the craft brewery in Edinburgh, Scotland in 2002.

The flagship beer – Original got it’s start as the by-product of something else Sharp was hired to do, season barrels for ale finished whiskey. Basically, the rest is history.

Since the debut of Original, the brewery has evolved their barrel aged line up to include offerings like Rum Aged, Cognac Aged, Irish Whiskey CaskBourbon Barrel Stout & more. In this second part interview with Dougal, he runs down some special offerings currently in market in the United States. Currently in market you’ll find Oloroso Cask, Scottish Porter, Bourbon Barrel Stout, and Canadian Cherrywood, but also gives you the exclusive first look at a 2014 offering – Toasted Oak IPA.

Don’t miss the part one, the history of Innis & Gunn.
