Foothills Brewing (Winston-Salem, NC) has been teasing Georgia distribution for years now. The brewery’s brewmaster and president Jamie Bartholomaus even attending the University of Georgia. So yeah, Georgia has always been on the radar.
“Georgia is where it all began for me,” Jamie says, “so obviously I’m pretty excited about finally getting an opportunity to sell our beer there.”
The expanded distribution coincides with a planned brewery expansion at the production facility in Winston-Salem. (The brewery also operates a pub downtown.) New 400 barrel fermentation tanks will be installed just prior to Foothills expansion to the Georgia market in late 2016, nearly a year from now.
That fermentation capacity increase will increase distribution to 70,000 barrels (2.1 million gallons) of beer, annually.
Foothills has not announced a distribution partner in the state at the time of this post.
