White Monkey’s Out of the Barrel

March 2nd 2013 will mark the official release of White Monkey just in time for their 17th anniversary. Chardonnay barrels from Wente Vineyards in CA were used with Golden Monkey happily hibernating inside them for the past 3 months. There will only be approximately 2,800 cases of 750 mL corked and caged bottles available throughout Victory’s distribution area.

“Our Golden Monkey is beloved by many, so we anticipate some heartfelt responses to our intriguing transformation of this beer,” expressed Victory brewmaster Bill Covaleski. “The wine barrel aging has had a substantial and delicious impact on the Golden Monkey.”

In conjunction with the launch of this beer on March 2nd, Victory will be opening their brewpub at 8am for a special breakfast fit to be paired with both Golden Monkey as well as White Monkey. Case and bottle purchases will also begin at 8 am.

Style: Belgian Tripel (aged in wine barrels)

Victory Founders Taste Test Red Thunder [Video]

Victory Brewing Company (Downingtown, PA) will release Red Thunder in November, 2012. Thunder is the brewery’s Baltic Thunder aged in red wine barrels. Victory has quite a few barrels for they have been using to aged this brew, so there will be more for the public. Red Thunder arrives on November 21, 2012.

Victory Golden Monkey in Wine Makes “White Monkey”

Victory Brewing recently announced  they were releasing Red Thunder, the brewery’s Baltic Thunder in red wine in November. There is also a potential for Old Horizontal in bourbon, aka Oak Horizontal. Now become aquainted with White Monkey. You know the base beer as Golden Monkey (a tripel). White Monkey is aged in white wine barrels.

Since his birth in 1997, our beloved Golden Monkey has remained playfully delightful and profoundly satisfying. His soul continues to glow with the wisdom of ages and inspired our own stroke of genius. Restless from his continuous journey to joy,we felt that some quiet time in American oak barrels that once matured white wine would further soothe this ale’s silken soul. After his three-month retreat, Golden Monkey emerged refreshed and invigorated with new character and flavor nuances that only make him more profound, and possibly even more playful.
