Commercial Description: Expect lovely, warm smells of single malt scotch, oaky bourbon barrels, smoke, sweet caramel and roasted malts, a bit of earthy spice, and a scintilla of dark fruit. It’s a kick-back sipper made to excite the palate.
Style: Scotch Ale
Taste Expectations: Vanilla from the bourbon. Touch of oak. Malts are sweet, & caramel, some bread. Also a bit of dark fruits, chocolate, & a warming alcohol finish.

This is the first time this fall seasonal from Founder’s Brewing has hit Atlanta. It’s a wet hopped pale ale brewed alongside the fall hop harvest. Wet hopping is the act of using fresh picked whole flower hops to the beer. This gives the beer a fresh hop flavor, and gives a less bitter taste than it’s dried counterparts.
Commercial Description: This liquid dream pours a hazy golden orange straw color with a white, two-finger head. Your first sip of this beer rewards you with a super juicy hop presence bursting with citrus, then finishes to introduce toasted malt undertones.
Style: American Pale Ale
Taste Expectations: Citrus hops with a touch of pine. Toasty malts balance this flavorful pale.
Just tapped at Brick Store Pub is Founder’s Black Biscuit. Black Biscuit is an barrel aged dark/black ale.
Description — Lots of Biscuit malt was used in this brew. It is aged in regular bourbon barrels, with molasses added. Black Biscuit has been described as a cross between a black ale and a baltic porter.
Taste Expectations — Oak, Chocolate, coffee, vanilla and alcohol. Molasses and chocolate in the finish. Lots of flavors to sort out. Complex, and fascinating.

Quick backstory on The Porter –
Molly Gunn and husband Nick have a love of good beer. Having been to various great beer bars around the country (and working in some too!) Molly and Nick decided it was time to start one themselves. After spotting a empty location in little 5 Points and signing a lease, they got to work. The goal, a bar with great beer and great food. One year later, I would have to say they have accomplished that goal.
