St. Louis Firm to Offer ‘Partner Brewing’ Facilities
As the craft beer industry continues its exponential growth, a pivotal aspect of said growth is often overlooked – the overhead cost of facilities. While many breweries wish that they could expand faster and increase their distribution umbrella, many just do not have the means fiscally. A St. Louis firm is looking to change that by offering facilities similar to those who co-pack food items or rent out certified kitchens. BrewHub will offer ‘partner brewing’ providing the means for many to brew their beer under their own supervision, package it themselves, and distribute it from the BrewHub facilities. The first location is slated to launch in Lakewood FL with the possibility of 5 other locations on the horizon – Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Midwest, Texas and the West Coast.
“There are so many craft brewers making amazing beer today, and the demand from consumers is almost insatiable. We believe our partner brewing model will allow craft brewers a great opportunity to expand their business and reach new consumers.” Brew Hub CEO Tim Schoen.

From the Brewer’s Association:
Boulder, CO â— March 19, 2013 — The American Homebrewers Association (AHA) is pleased to announce that Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant has signed a bill that will effectively legalize homebrewing throughout the state. Mississippi is now the 49th state to permit homebrewing. A Senate version of the bill passed in early February and it was then voted on by the State House of Representatives in March.
“From our founding fathers to our current President, this country has a long and storied tradition of homebrewing,” said Gary Glass, director of the American Homebrewers Association. “We appreciate the support of all of the homebrewers, the dedicated grassroots efforts of Raise Your Pints and the legislators who have worked so diligently to make homebrewing a reality in Mississippi. We are grateful to Senator John Horhn who introduced this bill and to Governor Bryant for his quick action and support.”
The 21st Amendment predominantly leaves regulation of alcohol to the states. Therefore, even though homebrewing is federally legal, it is still up to individual states to legalize homebrewing in state codes. Prior to today’s announcement, Mississippi and Alabama were the only two states that did not allow homebrewing. The AHA will continue working with homebrewers in Alabama to legalize homebrewing.
The hobby of homebrewing has seen exponential growth in recent years. The AHA estimates that more than 1 million Americans brew beer or make wine at home at least once a year. Mississippi is home to an estimated 2,200 homebrewers who may now enjoy brewing without the restrictions of a state-wide ban.
Looks like Central Pennsylvania is hoping to add another brewery to its lineup. The Vineyard at Hershey, which just celebrated their very successful first year, has filed paperwork with the PLCB to open ‘The Brewery at Hershey’.
Many homebrewers dream of turning their hobby into a career, and after outperforming 40 other applicants last year, DeLutis has done just that. The new brewery hopes to begin growing their own hops and locally sourcing as many ingredients as possible. No opening has been projected yet as they wait for official approval from the PLCB, but a celebration of the upcoming addition has been scheduled for April 12th from 6-9 pm. ‘
Tickets for the event are $20 in advance/$25 at the door and include tastings, music, and light snacks as well as the chance to meet DeLutis, his family, and the rest of the Vineyard/Brewery team.
