Beer Street Journal Video: Inside Alabama’s Good People Brewing

Jason Malone, Eric Shultenover, and Michael Sellers friendship started in college, and grew into a thriving Birmingham, Alabama brewery. These “good people” sold their first keg on July 4th, 2008 and have continued to grow ever since.

Good People Brewing is located in downtown Birmingham, Alabama right next to the minor league Baron’s baseball stadium. The all-can brewery boasts 5 year round offerings, including American Pale Ale, American Brown Ale, IPA, Coffee Oatmeal Stout, and Snake Handler IPA.

Beer Street Journal caught up with Michael Sellers for a little history, and little taste of the deep south.

  1. If you haven’t yet tried the Snakehandler….get you some right away. The most wonderful hop experience to be found in Alabama, or most anywhere for that matter! I’m hop blooded and love hoppy beers like this, and I’m sure you will too! Approach with caution though, ’cause this snake will sneak up and bite ya !
