Wicked Weed Pernicious India Pale Ale has joined the Asheville, North Carolina’s bottle lineup later this year.
The brewery’s new production facility is now online, where both Wicked Weed Pernicious and Freak of Nature have now emerged. Pernicious has already been available on draft in the past.
When the beer debuted in March, Wicked Weed found that Blue Blood Brewing Company in Nebraska already sold a “Pernicious” beer. A quick call to Blue Blood, found their president Brian Podwinski quite amiable, and allowed Wicked to use the name as well.
Pernicious implies influence that is harmful in a way not easily noticed. This beer is harmful, not because of overwhelming hop bitterness, but because its balanced brightness insidiously ruins your expectations for all other IPA’s. This hop delivery vehicle is crafted to enjoy fresh and often, and because of its drinkability and clean finish, you’ll never look at other IPA’s the same again. The harm is done.
Wicked Weed Pernicious is available in 11.2oz bottles.
