Earlier in the week it was made know that Flying Dog was creating a pumpkin beer dubbed “The Fear.”   In true Flying Dog style here is the label art.

2011 is going to be full of pumpkin beers.  I’ve counted at least 10 more additions to this unique style this year.  Add Flying Dog Brewing to the list of pumpkin releases with – “The Fear.”

Flying Dog doesn’t currently have a pumpkin beer in it’s lineup.  The Fear – is “Imperial Pumpkin Ale brewed with Pumpkin & spices”

Draft only approval right now.  Sure there’s more to come on this one.

Shock Top is adding a 3rd beer to the lineup this year – Shock Top Pumpkin.   This beer will kick off a seasonal series.  There is no artwork available yet for the bottles.

Shock Top Pumpkin Wheat is a traditional Belgian style wheat ale brewed with ripe pumpkins and a variety of autumnal spices, including nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves, for a refreshingly smooth beer that fully captures all the flavors of fall.

Harpoon Brewing’s latest Un-Filtered Offering is a pumpkin laden one, and arrives in August, 2011.

In a teaser from Harpoon:
Imagine a pumpkin vine found its way into a field of wheat,  and a brewer harvested it all to make a beer.   Add Northwestern hops and a touch of mild spices,  and you’ve got UFO pumpkin.  The wheat malt provides a  relatively light body which balances nicely with the earthy pumpkin.  There are just enough hops for clean finish.  And, like all of our UFO beers, UFO Pumpkin is unfiltered so all the wonderful flavors are right there in your glass.

Availability: 12oz/6pks, draft.  Fall Seasonal.

Shock Top is a brand of Anheuser-Busch, and currently has 2 offerings – Shock Top Belgian White, and Raspberry Wheat.  Looks like the brewers are experimenting with a Pumpkin Wheat also.  Above in a sample label – most likely used for test markets.
