Simcoe: …Brewed with only Simcoe hops from the Yakima Valley area of WA….Simcoe hops contribute a grippy bitterness and dramatic grapefruit peel and pine resin notes to this brew, with the slight sweetness and full malt body attempting to balance the concentrated hop character.

Zeus: …Brewed with only Zeus hops from the Yakima Valley area of WA…. Zeus hops contribute clean bitterness and intense, pungent resinous pine flavor to this brew.  The balance of the brew leans strongly toward the hop character, but is softened by the malt sweetness and body.

Ahtanum: …Brewed with only Ahtanum hops, a newer variety from the Yakima Valley area of WA… Ahtanum hops contribute a balanced and typically “American” orange peel, piney, and floral flavor and aroma to this brew, balanced by the slight sweetness and full body from 5 different malts.

East Kent Golding: …Brewed with only East Kent Golding hops, a variety first selected in the 1700s in East Kent, England…East Kent Goldings contribute a mellow bitterness to this brew, along with earthy, floral, and apricot notes, balanced by a slight sweetness and full body from the malt blend.

UNCONFIRMED: Terrapin Indiana Krunkles Coming Soon

Not much known about this beer yet.   Sounds like it is going to a “wheat IPA.”    Due out in June.  With a name like Krunkles, sounds like this beer is headed for the Side Project  Series.

Still most likely in the planning stages, and the name itself is unconfirmed.  Let’s just say the info came from a very reliable source…

It’s Aprihop Season!

It’s Aprihop season again!  Dogfish Head Brewing’s spring seasonal has shipped.  Apricots and hops really make this beer.  Just read Dogfish’s description:

Aprihop is our fruit beer for hopheads!

It is an American IPA brewed with Pilsner and Cystal malts massively hopped in in the continuous fashion. The flavor is complimented by the addition of Apricots. After fermentation the beer is dry hopped with irresponsible amounts of Amarillo hops. The beer is hoppy in the aroma with the apricots playing a supporting complimentary role. The flavor is rich with late hop flavors and it’s bitterness is tempered by just the right amount of malt sweetness and fruity undertones from the apricots.  This is one of our most popular seasonal beers and we’ve been brewing it each spring for quite a while now. We release the beer each March and you should find it on the shelves through May.

Style: American IPA
Hops — Amarillo
Malts — Crystal, Pilsner
Fresh Apricots

Availability — March — May.  12oz/4pks, Draft Offerings

7% ABV

Fun Fact: Aprihop was first brewed in 1997
