Blue Moon’s Grape Scott! Yet Another Rename?

Blue Moon Brewing Company’s Grape Scott! is joining the brewery’s Graffitti Series. (See label, it makes sense.)

However, it is important to note that it may indeed be a rename of a renamed beer. Vintage Blonde Ale was renamed (last year?) to Golden Knot (in 750ml bottles) with the following description:

Golden Knot* is crafted with the juice of Chardonnay grapes and 100% wheat, intertwining a touch of tartness with apple and kiwi notes. This ale ties nicely with any food you might otherwise pair with white wine.

Grape Scott! carries the description: Wheat Ale with Chardonnay grapes. Blue Moon hasn’t clarified the different offerings for Beer Street Journal yet. In the meantime, your call.

Style: Wheat Ale (w/ Chardonnay Grapes)
Availability: 22oz Bottles

Odell Jaunt: Grape Juice & Oak Staves

Jaunt. A short excursion or journey for pleasure. Also a new beer to look out for from Odell Brewing

The brewery took a short “jaunt” over the Rocky Mountains to find riesling grapes to create this new offering, only then to age it on oak for extra flavor.

The western slope of Colorado, just a short trip over the Rocky Mountains, is the perfect place to find new ingredients for an excursion in brewing. Jaunt is a process, or journey, marrying a delicate pale ale with the juice from Colorado riesling grapes. It is then aged on oak, just for pleasure. The final blend boasts a creamy malt body, a bright and crisp fruity finish, and just a dash of toasted oak.

Odell never fails to please when it comes creative spins on classics like a pale ale. Look for Jaunt in 750ml bottles.

Style: Imperial Pale Ale (w/ Grape Juice. Oak Aged)
Availability: 750ml Bottles
Arrival: TBA

Great Divide Celebrates 20 Years

Great Divide Brewing Company (Denver, CO) will mark 20 years of craft brewing with a new anniversary ale.

17th and 18th Anniversary Ales were oak aged imperial IPAs, with the brewery followed up with 19th Anniversary American strong ale with birch syrup. 20th Anniversary celebrates the milestone with a Belgian-style ale brewed with Viognier grape juice.

This Belgian-style Ale is a golden example of our traditional bold character, but with a little something special to commemorate the milestone. Fermented with Viognier grape juice, 20th Anniversary is both delicate and assertive. Big without being brutish, cunning without being cloying, this is a grown-up beer for a big-time celebration.

Look for Great Divide 20th Anniversary in 22oz bombers and draft.

Style: Belgian Strong Ale (w/ Grape Juice)
Availability: 22oz Bombers, Draft
Arrival: TBA
