Wicked Weed Coolcumber bottles debut for the first time

Wicked Weed Coolcumber

Wicked Weed Coolcumber, a draft offering in the past, is now available in bottles as of today.

The beer is exactly as it sounds, a golden ale brewed with cucumber. Take our word for it – it really does smell and taste like cucumber. (Plus basil and juniper berries of course.)  Face it, the South is hot. This beer is like air conditioning in a glass.

Summer in Carolina is a time when days grow long, life slows down, and friends draw near. Gardens burst with brisk basil and fresh cucumbers, fireflies illuminate the night sky, and warm days leave us lounging late, our glasses brimming with golden nectar. Summer in the South is best served cool.

Wicked Weed Coolcumber is a 12 ounce bottle offering.

Style: Golden Ale (w/ Cucumber, Basil, Juniper Berries.)
Availability: 12oz Bottles, Draft.
Release: 7/11/16

Shmaltz Star Trek Golden Anniversary Ale

Shmaltz Star Trek Golden Anniversary Ale, a beer built for fans of the series.

Clifton Park, New York’s Shmaltz Brewing is releasing a new golden ale that celebrates the 50th Anniversary of Gene Roddenberry’s Star Trek Series, that debuted in 1966.

The brewery has hinted at Shmaltz Star Trek Golden Anniversary Ale release recently.

Harpoon Sweet Spot Golden Ale debuts year-round

Harpoon Sweet Spot Golden Ale is joining the brewery’s year-round lineup this month.

It’s warmer and headed toward hot, making now a great time to debut a golden ale. The beer is brewed with German noble hops, and finishes crisp and sweet. Harpoon chose this style targeting every kind of beer drinker. A beer that parties hard, and shares well.

This refreshing Golden Ale is light in body but full of flavor. Not too hoppy, not too malty, complex but easy drinking. Classic German noble hops provide a clean hop aroma while the malt combination adds depth. Smooth with a crisp, dry finish, this beer is a balancing act of the highest quality ingredients – the sweet spot of beer.

Harpoon Sweet Spot Golden Ale is available in 12 ounce bottles and draft, year-round.

Style: Golden Ale

Jailhouse Brewing Alibi to debut as brewery’s first can

Jailhouse Brewing Alibi

Jailhouse Brewing Alibi will mark the brewery’s first canned offering from the Hampton, Georgia based brewery.

Brewery founder Glenn Golden and his team have been debating adding cans to their lineup for a while now. Being as small as they are, space (and can cost) have been a big factor in the decision. We at Beer Street Journal always thought that their best seller Slammer Wheat would have been the first can beer, but this April, Jailhouse Brewing Alibi will find aluminum.

It’s the deep south folks. Somewhere at the intersection of the southern heat, and food comes this golden ale, brewed with stone milled grits. Grits is good eatin’, and in this case, good drinkin’ too. In this case, giving the beer a little extra body.

Jailhouse Brewing Alibi is already available on draft. Look for it in 12 ounce cans in April, 2016.

Style: Golden Ale (w/ Grits)
Availability: 12oz Cans, Draft
Debut: April, 2016

New Belgium Lips of Faith Golden Ale, with Hof Ten Dormaal

New Belgium Lips of Faith Golden Ale

New Belgium Lips of Faith Golden Ale, a collaboration with Belgium’s Hof Ten Dormaal, takes aim at the series this year.

Hof Ten Dormal is a farmhouse brewery nestled in the countryside of Tildonk, Belgium. Part of the brewery was damaged by fire in 2014. In a “New” Belgium to “real” Belgium collaboration, the two breweries are creating this upcoming Lips of Faith offering, Golden Ale.

Described as a springtime offering, Golden Ale is brewed with new Mosaic, and old (read: traditional) Saaz hops. The breweries malted sunflower seeds, and nuanced this beer with wild carrot herbs. You didn’t think this was going to be just a regular old golden ale did you?

A deliciously uncommon springtime beer, our Golden Ale brewed with Hof Ten Dorsal blends modern Mosaic hops and malted sunflower seeds with Old World ingredients such as Saaz hops, spelt, and wild carrot herbs. It’s New and Old Belgium together in a bottle.

New Belgium Lips of Faith Golden Ale will be a draft, and 12 ounce bottle offering (4 packs for the first time).

Style: Golden Ale (w/ Sunflower Seeds, Wild Carrot Herbs)
Hops: Mosaic, Saaz

Availability: 12oz Bottles, Draft
Release: TBA
