SweetWater Hash Brown returns to seasonal lineup
SweetWater Hash Brown has returned to the Atlanta, Georgia brewery’s lineup this week.
Those of you familiar with SweetWater’s hoppy lineup, will know this beer started with Dank Tank release Johnny Hash. That imperial IPA made use of Citra hop hash (the potent dust that is left behind after hops are pelletized). Johnny Hash was so well received, SweetWater created their own blend of hash, and now sell it year round as SweetWater Hop Hash (just ask Diggs.)
Why stop there? SweetWater Hash Brown is here to help you transition to cooler weather. Building off a familiar brown ale recipe, SweetWater added malts that compliment the bold hop hash flavor. The result is a very hoppy brown ale, aka India brown ale, that smashes two styles together to get a sum greater than its parts.
Oh me oh my-. What did we do? We fired up the skillet to 420 degrees, tossed in a sizzling concoction of 2-Row, Wheat, Pale Chocolate, Cara-Brown, and Midnight Wheat, then added in a hefty dose of hop hash and other dank-ish-ish-ish fixins to scatter, smother, and cover this baby all the way. Resiny, citrusy hops spice up the rich chocolate and caramel notes the malt brought to the mix, making this platter slide down the counter at 60 IBU’s.
SweetWater Hash Brown is now shipping 12oz cans, bottles and draft. Scattered, smothered, and covered indeed.
Style: India Brown Ale
Availability: 12oz Cans, 12oz Bottles, Draft. Seasonal Release.

Founders Sumatra Mountain Brown coming in May
Founders Sumatra Mountain Brown is the next specialty offering by the Grand Rapids, Michigan based brewery.
Founders Sumatra Mountain Brown has the look and feel of a beer from the brewery’s Backstage Series – Frangelic Mountain Brown Ale. While that edition was brewed with hazelnut coffee, this “mountain” brown ale is brewed with Sumatran coffee.
The is bold brown ale gets its body form a team of malts, including caramel malt for sweetness, flaked barley for dense foam, a bit of chocolate malt for color, and aromatic and munich malts for added depth. German and perle hops add a touch of bitterness to balance the sweetness. The addition of rich Sumatra coffee takes this perfectly balance brown ale to a decadent level.
Founders Sumatra Mountain Brown will be a 12 ounce bottle release. Tap room on April 29th, Distribution starting May 2, 2016.

Burial Bolo Coconut Brown cans
Burial Bolo Coconut Brown cans will be back on sale in the tap room on February 17th, 2016. The Asheville, North Carolina’s brown ale is easily one of the brewery’s most popular releases.
Instead of the popular porter or stout choice as a style when brewing with coconut, Burial Bolo Coconut Brown‘s base is (as redundant as this writing is sounding), a brown ale.
The cleaver’s blade is strong enough and sharp enough to crack the toughest of coconuts. Easy drinking without lacking flavor, the addition of coconut is the perfect compliment to the subtle sweetness and nutty undertones present from the specialty malts.
Burial Bolo Coconut Brown is a 16 ounce can offering. Distribution typically follows shortly after.
Style: Brown Ale (w/ Coconut)
Availability: 16oz Cans

Clown Shoes The Barista coming in January
Clown Shoes The Barista will be available in late January, 2016.
Think of the brewery’s labels like an on-going comic book. The characters reprise roles in other series (beers), or take on a new persona in a new beer. The latter is the case here. The brewery’s Brown Angel, a brown ale has taken on a new role in a coffee shop.
The brewery has created a breakfast brown ale by adding milk sugar (lactose), cold brewed espresso, and oatmeal to the brown ale base.
A Clown Shoes legend, Brown Angel, put away her dancing shoes to focus on extracting espresso, brewing coffee, and pouring latte art with zen-like focus. The Barista Breakfast Brown is crafted with Maris Otter malt, flaked oatmeal, cold brewed espresso, milk sugars and the spirit of angel wings.
