Tommyknocker Creates A Legend

Tommyknocker Legend

Tommyknocker Brewery  (Idaho Springs, CO) goes big with Legend, a full bodied brown ale.

From the brewers at Tommyknocker Brewery, we proudly present LEGEND.This Olde Oaked Brown Ale celebrates years of award-winning quality craftsmanship. A generous addition of Crystal, Munich and Chocolate malts, accentuated by a touch of pure maple syrup create a  full-bodied beverage of epic stature, while a carefully selected blend of American hops rounds out the finishing malt sweetness. Notes of spiced vanilla and toasted oak, as well as hints of smoky biscuit harmonize with layers of black in pepper and lingering coffee bean. The aroma, flavor and sensual.

Founders Frangelic Mountain Brown Debuts Today

Founders Brewing’s newest release in the Backstage Series arrives today in the Grand Rapids, Michigan taproom. Frangelic Mountain Brown features flavors of hazelnut coffee. Look for this beer making its way through the brewery’s distribution footprint this week.

Frangelic Mountain Brown is the 16th iteration in the series of popular brown ales–and it likely won’t be the last. The singular characteristic of this beer comes from the use of hazelnut coffees in the brewing process. The beer has distinct aromatics with sweet and nutty flavors beautifully balanced. Founders is known for its beers made with coffee (i.e., the Breakfast Stout series), but this is both the brewery’s first brown ale and its first beer brewed with hazelnut coffees to be bottled. It clocks in at 9% ABV.

Style: Brown Ale (w/ Coffee)

Availability: 22oz bombers, limited Draft.

9% ABV

Brewdog’s AB:10 Is Wine Aged Brown Ale

Brewdog has bottled Abstrakt AB:10 this week.  This 11.5% ABV beer is an imperial brown ale aged in Spanish sweet red barrels from Malaga.

Stewart Bowman, our Head Brewer, devised an Imperial Brown Ale designed to perfectly complement the wine flavours and extract maximum depth and character from the giant barrels. We also felt the Imperial Brown Ale was ideally suited to be barrel aged and as well as the infusion of the Malaga wine character will also benefit added complexity and maturity from the time in oak.

Style: Brown Ale (Barrel Aged, Red wine)
Availability: 375 ml bottles, corked & caged
Arrival: Late June, 2012

11.5% ABV

Terrapin & Shmaltz Revive Reunion Beer For 2012

Last years release of Reunion: A Beer For Hope found great success.  The collaboration was brewed to raise money for the Institute for Myeloma & Bone Cancer research (www.imbcr.org). Virginia McLean, partner in the Reunion project, died from complications from multiple myeloma in June, 2007.   She had a fantastic quote “Cancer can cause my death, but it can only take my life if I give it that.”

The 2012 edition of Reunion finds the old gang back together, with Shmaltz Brewing , Terrapin & Olive & Sinclair.

The 2012 edition of Renunion is much like 2011, except cinnamon is substituted for chili peppers.

Style: Brown Ale(w/ Vanilla, Cocoa Nibs, Cinnamon)
Availability: 220z bombers, draft.  Released annually, style changes each year.
ETA: August, 2012

7.6% ABV
