One of the Most Disturbing Beer Labels You’ll See Today

justin-blabaer-label-22oz3-upcNEW

Probably the most disturbing beer label you’ll see today. Evil Twin’s newest collaboration with Westbrook Brewing Co (where it’s brewed), and the Charleston Beer Exchange.  The beer is chock full of blueberries. And Bieber references. Just bask in it’s Teenie Bopper glory.

OMG! It’s JUSTIN BLABAER!!! If you have “Blaeber fever,” then this is the only solution. We stuffed so many blueberries into this beer–it’s going to make you shout “Oh, Baby!” This is dedicated to AVSB, A&F YFFL – EW, MW, RWM, BE, SS, RC. A collaboration between Evil Twin Brewing, Westbrook Brewing Co, & The Charleston Beer Exchange.

Mikkeller & 3 Floyds Team Up Again

Mikkeller and Three Floyds team up for another crazy collaboration – Bla Spog Else. The name means “blue ghost” and was brewed at De Proef brewery in Lochristi, Belgium.  Bla Spog Else is a blueberry beer aged in oak barrels. Previous versions of the artwork used the term “lambic,” but you’ll see here it isn’t used. Pacman throwback label? I bet the beer just tastes better because of artwork.

Mikkeller and Three Floyds have teamed up before on brews like  BoogoopBarrel Aged Boogoop, and Baller Stout, and Risgoop

Style: Lambic (w/ Blueberries, Oak Aged)
Availability: 750 ml bottles
Arrival: TBA

Samuel Adams Blueberry Hill Lager Heads For Bottles

Samuel Adams Blueberry Hill Lager is slated for bottles this year. The brew debuted on draft last year. Brewed with real blueberries.

A fresh take on a fruit beer. This crisp, unfiltered lager is aged on blueberries for a pleasant blueberry aroma and taste. To taste this fruity character in a new direction, we brewed with Tettnang Noble hops for an added subtle citrus note. A delicious blend of flavors with a smooth lager finish.

Style: Fruit Beer (Lager) (w/ Blueberries) Availability: 12oz bottles, Draft
Arrival: Bottles, TBA

5.5% ABV

Dogfish Head’s Delaware Native Ale Returns, With A Spirit In Tow

Dogfish Head Brewery has just brewed a second iteration of Delaware Native Ale aka DNA. The beer uses all ingredients native to the First State, including a yeast that was isolated from a local peach orchard.

Last year’s batch wasn’t able to claim 100% Delaware origin. The barley used was from out of state. This year, Sam and crew were able to locally source the barley for DNA 2012. The beer is a mead with 720 lbs of wildflower honey, and over 300 lbs of Delaware blueberries. As an added bonus, the mead will be used as a wash to create a Delaware Native Distilled Spirit. Perhaps the first spirit created completely in Delaware?
