Left Hand Ambidextrous: A Beer & A New Series

Left Hand Brewing AmbidextrousLeft Hand Brewing‘s Ambidextrous has started hitting taps around the U.S.   What is it?  Well, it’s more than a beer, it’s a series.  Left Hand will be different editions of Ambidextrous this year.  The brewery received keg approval for the ale last last year.  The name will stay the same, but the beer of course will repeatedly change.  Some of you have already seen #1, Imperial Milk Porter.  It already  sounds sexy.

Ambi #1 is a blend of different Left Hand beers.  It  breaks down like this:

Widdershins Barleywine (aged in Colorado whiskey)
Milk Stout
Wake Up Dead (Regular edition)

plus a little bit of coffee.

Imperial Milk Stout weighs out at around 9% ABV.

Availability: Draft only, available now.

Jerome & Spikes 2011 Barley Ryne (US Edition)

Terrapin BFM Spike & JeromeMeet the American edition of Spike & Jerome’s Barley Ryne.  As you may remember, last year Terrapin collaborated with Brasserie BFM in Switzerland.  The result was a sour/tart rye based barleywine aged in rum barrels and imported to the U.S. by BFM.

Above is the U.S. label, for a version of the barley wine that is a blend of 2/3 ale and 1/3 ale that has been aging in bourbon barrels at the Terrapin brewery in Athens, Georgia.  Note the name transposition to Jerome & Spikes.  Terrapin  is currently deciding when this version will be released.

10% ABV
