2.4% Sun Drink’in Beer

Mikkeller will be shipping a real session beer stateside this year.   Before you get your feathers ruffled, it actually IS a session beer – a mere 2.4% ABV.  Drink’in The Sun’s alcohol content has lowered each year. (2 years ago it was 3.9%)

Drink’in is a pale wheat ale and a year round brew for Mikkeller, produced at De Proef in Belgium.  Dr. Erikschon (whom I assume is an enthusiast of Mikkeller) has pretty funny commercial about this beer. Check it out.

Style: American Pale Wheat Ale
Arrival: Late Spring, 2011

2.9% ABV

Hell or High Watermelon Arrives In March

21st Amendment Brewing’s “Hell or High Watermelon” wheat ale arrives again in March 2011.   Like Brew Free or Die, the beer has a new label.  Sent to me by a one of their brewery reps – aka “Can Evangelists”, I really like this new update.

Monk’s Blood is still set to arrive in February, followed by Hell or High Watermelon….

Spoetzl Brewing – brewer of the Shiner line of beers just released a new one – Shiner 102. 102 is a follow up to last years anniversary beer 101.  Spoetzl Brewing was founded by a group of businessmen in 1909.  At that time it was called the “Shiner Brewing Association” based in Shiner, Texas.  In 1915 Kosmos Spoetzl, a German immigrant with German brewing experience, leased the brewery.  With him came various Bavarian brewing recipes still in production by Spoetzl today.
