Riverwatch Brewery has officially started brewing in Augusta, Georgia. An official launch date will be announced soon.
The owner as well as the head brewer is Brey Sloan, a retired Army Colonel. She was a homebrewer for more than 20 years before studying at the World Brewing Academy (Siebel Institute in Chicago and Doemens Academy in Munich, Germany). Sloan holds an international Diploma in Brewing Technology.
James Sloan is the brewery’s assistant brewer, an apprentice to Brey.
There is one more Sloan in the mix – Anne Sloan, a marine biologist turned beer lover. You’ll find her pouring in the taproom.
Four beers are on deck for the blossoming brewery, including Cautionary Tale IPA, Scenic Overlook Blonde, 104 Pale Ale, Noble Jones (schwarzbier), Through the Green (Vienna Lager) and Nearest Point of Relief, a lime kristalweizen.
A launch date and party is expected late March, early April.
Riverwatch Brewery is located at 1150 5th Street, Building 61 Augusta, Georgia.
