Red Hare Brewing (Marietta, GA) is currently working on brewery expansion plans. Currently, the growth would come with a price tag of $2.8 million.
This morning the Marietta Daily Journal mentioned a new $40,000 dollar grant to Red Hare by the development authority. The brewery has received tentative approval for funding the expansion, but must raise $500,000 of equity before commencing.
Beer Street Journal is told that, while the expansion is indeed in the works, the local grants, funding and full expansion plans aren’t set in stone yet. Red Hare is considered a few different options for the growth and none of it is set in stone… yet.
Red Hare Brewing opened in 2011, and through their first full year (2012) produced 2,600 barrels (80,600 gallons). This year, the brewery hopes to max out at 7200 barrels (223,200 gallons) of beer.
Over the next three years, the brewery’s $2.8 million dollar planned expansion would add 20 new jobs, and push the maximum capacity to 15,000 barrels annually.
