Is Sriracha in beer the next big thing? Maybe. Rogue Brewing made hot splash with their recent Sriracha Hot Stout Beer. The stout finished with a touch of heat, reminiscent of the chili sauce.
Soon another brewery, Flying Dog, is taking a shot at it. Flying Dog Sriracha Pale Ale. This rendition uses a lighter bodied beer (a pale ale) and a mix of chili peppers.
Disconnected from the world below, the entire brewery congregates atop a historic overlook each year to develop beers that shatter the confines of traditional styles. The only precedent lies in a few simple words from the Good Doctor: “Too weird to live, too rare to die.” – Hunter S. Thompson
Flying Dog Sriracha Pale Ale joins the brewery’s Brewhouse Rarities Series. The line features small batch, one-off and experimental batches of beers that are just a little different than your typical IPA or porter. Flying Dog has pulled back their distribution to Maryland and just a handful of places. If you want this beer, find some Maryland friends.
