Red Brick Describes:
Light and bright copper color. Very elegant foam, creamy aspect and regular, fading away delicately.  Intense nose of fruit, exotic pineapple, orange zest.  Rich body in the mouth, fully textured, very long finish with flavors of peach and lemon. The acidity is well balanced giving freshness.

Style: Hefeweizen

Arrival: Late April, 2011

Red Brick Brown AleRed Brick Brewing’s Brown Ale.

Dark copper color with bronze rims. Very thick foam, persistent.  Nice and elegant toffee aromas with spices and roasted almonds, very persistent and evolving on brewed coffee.  Very franc in the mouth. Black fruits, plum with more intense spicy notes of canella and cloves. The texture is very delicate. The beer seems to have all characters for a beer with personality but is kind of dissociated having intense flavors at first, then some emptiness in the middle of the mouth and finishing with a bitter finish.

Style: Brown Ale
Availability: 12 oz bottles, Draft.
Season:  Year Round

6.5% ABV

Red Brick Brewing’s Blonde Ale.

Bright, medium intensity gold color. Light foam, thin bubbles with moderate persistence.  Elegant aromas of orange skin, slight comfit apricot, very fresh developing on citrus notes.  Good attack, fresh not too aggressive, the acidity though is quite present. There is a smooth texture, caressing of fresh barley and lemony flavors towards the end. Short finish with characters of slight bitterness, fresh coffee beans and blond chocolate.

Style: Blonde Ale

Season: Late – Spring, Summer.

Red Brick 16th Anniversary Arrives!

Red Brick Brewing is finding their niche at barrel aging.  Last year’s 15th Anniversary found instant popularity, prompting the brewery commemorate the beer again on their 16th.  This beer is an imperial brown ale that spent 6 months with Mr. Jack Daniels.

To contrast, last year’s 15th Anniversary was aged 13 months in a Pappy Van Winkle barrel.

In 2011, 16th Anniversary kicks off Red Brick’s new “Brick Mason” series of 12oz/ 4pks. The first of 4 editions released this year.

Style: Imperial Brown Ale. (Barrel Aged)

Taste Expectations: Boozy, Vanilla, oak, bourbon, malt.

Red Brick’s “Brick Mason” Series Details

Red Brick Brewing, Atlanta’s oldest brewery is releasing a new series throughout 2011 dubbed “Brick Mason” series.  There will be 4 editions in the series in 12oz/4 pks.  Here is your tentative schedule:

16th Anniversary – Barrel Aged Brown Ale, 7% ABV.  The follow up to last year’s very popular 15.  16th Anni is Red Brick Brown aged 6 months in Jack Daniels barrels.  First edition of the series, due out end of February – Early March.

Double IPA – Imperial IPA.  Red Brick has been experimenting with IPAs for a while.  In 2011 it seems they will be making the jump.  Details to follow.  90 IBU’s from test batches.

Smoked Barrel Aged Porter – Porter Aged in bourbon barrels.  Vanilla beans specially smoked by Fox Brothers BBQ in Atlanta.  Breiss Cherrywood smoked malt.  Expect smoke, Chocolate, vanilla, bourbon flavors.  Edition 3.

Old Ale – Blend of aged & fresh beer.  Will be a malt forward offering.  Spices added.  A German style lager beer with a twist. 8%  target abv.  Edition #4.

I tried to get more info on this beer, but unfortunately didn’t have much luck.  I’ll post more info when I find it!

Style: Maibock

Taste Expectations: Grainy, sweet. Some caramel & copper. A lot like Oktobeerfest. Easy drinking.
